Russian ornaments and ornaments - symbols

Russian folk patterns and ornaments are the custodians of a deep archaic. They take us back to the depths of centuries, to pre-Christian Russia. These signs of antiquity can be found on embroidery, in ornaments worn, in the decoration of Russian huts and temples. As a rule, they had the meaning of wards or they were given other significant differences.

Russian hut

Of particular importance was the design of roofs and windows as a celestial vault. They have been depicted from the earliest times on the sun, horses, "heavenly whores". Steeply arching his neck and chest, on the main, central beam of the roof proudly rose a horse-bird, symbolizing the sun. In addition to her, there were other sun signs on the roof, which meant both sunset and sunrise.

On the descents coming from two sides down, the most frequent were the wavy Russian patterns and ornaments, the jets supplemented with small circles that were supposed to represent rain drops. The pagans who believed in the Roda believed that they were the cause of life on Earth and the expression of the creative energy of the deity performing the fertilization.

The windows were decorated with wooden lace. It represented Russian patterns and ornaments consisting of signs of the sun, water, plant elements and stylized female figures. Binding the outer and inner part of the house, the window was decorated extremely elegantly.

By type, they can be divided into three parts. The first composition - solar, which continued to protect the house, started by the roof.

The second one had a double-skinned covering, where the sun was also inside and, like on the roof, there were Russian patterns and ornaments in the form of hobbles.

The third kind of composition is different in that the cornice was flat, that is, there was no sky. In the center there was one figure, surrounded by stylized beasts. You can explain their semantic meaning for a long time, but you should go on to the next topic.

Headdress

His main idea is the image of the sky. The sun was embroidered on the headdress, birds were looking up. This is related to its name. The word "kokoshnik" came from the word "kokosh" - the cock. Suspensions to them, croquet, are vertical stripes, coming from the kokoshnik to the chest or even to the waist. In metal (usually gold or silver) products, Russian patterns and ornaments in the form of birds are used that connect the sky and the earth.

Pendants on the crocks served as colts, on which we see mermaids, semargla (this is the god of fertility) or griffins. Beaded croquettes imitated rainwater streams, which is also associated with fertility in the generalized sense, giving life to all earthly things.

Ornamentika ryasen is very stable: it is a theme of the sky and agricultural fertility. Heavenly heights are birds that are now on the earth. The agrarian theme can also be traced: all stylized phases of plant development (germinating seeds, pollinated herbs and flowers) were depicted.

Necklace and clothes

A necklace is an ornament for the neck and chest, which archeologists call "mane-cloth". There are signs of sun, moon, beasts and birds on the ornaments. These were all amulets.

Embroidery on the forearms of sleeves and hips carried a very ancient meaning of the treated field: in the oblique square, divided into four parts, there was a sign of grain - a dot. The hem of the clothes is decorated with embroidery, which is dominated by the idea of the earth: patterns that resemble grass, birds walking on the ground, flowers.

Thus, the Russian ornament and patterns trace back to the agricultural neolithic. Much has survived until the present times, but to understand the inherent meanings, it is necessary to study the works of archaeologists, for they possess the richest material that allows it to be deciphered.
