Nikolaev Nikolay Mikhailovich: combat way of the Hero of the Soviet Union

Nikolaev Nikolai Mikhailovich - famous people's hero of the Great Patriotic War, Hero of the Soviet Union, sergeant-major. From the first year of the war he was at the front and earned a firm eternal fame in the battles for his Motherland.

Nikolaev Nikolay Mikhailovich: Biography

Nikolay Nikolaev was born on December 19, 1918 in the village of Pecherskie Vyselki in the Samara region. He graduated from a seven-year school. After that he worked on the MTS as a tractor driver. In these times, industrialization paced with leaps and bounds, so in many villages electricity appeared simultaneously with machines unknown until then. Nicholas can be called one of the pioneers.

In 1938, Nikolayev was drafted into the armed forces, where he served in the NKVD. After his return, he stayed at home for less than a year. In 1941 he was mobilized in the Red Army Workers 'and Peasants' Army. In December, he went to the front, where he takes part in various operations. In one of the fights he is seriously injured, after recovery he again goes to the front line.

By 1944 Nikolaev Nikolai Mikhailovich rose to the rank of sergeant-major and commanded anti-aircraft guns in the 1st Ukrainian Front.

Lviv-Sandomierz operation

In the middle of the summer of 1944, Soviet troops drove the Nazis, liberating their lands. But on the territory of Western Ukraine, the Nazis were going to stop them. From Berlin, an order was issued to use any methods to deter the Red Army from entering Poland. Therefore, the regions of Western Ukraine and part of Poland were actively reinforced to repel the offensive.

At this time, the commander-in-chief's rate developed an offensive plan that was to be implemented simultaneously with the Belarusian operation. The troops of the First Ukrainian Front were to perform at the Rava-Russkaya and Lviv, in order to encircle and destroy the Nazis under Brody, which opened the way to Poland. Simultaneously with the preparations for the offensive of Soviet troops in the German rear, an operation of the Polish partisans, the Armia Krajowa, was being prepared. Also, the Soviet partisans intensified and sabotaged the transfer of German troops in this direction.

The beginning of large-scale military operations

The offensive of the Soviet troops was conducted mainly by tank formations, which quickly broke through the front in narrow sectors, which allowed developing tactical superiority after deepening. Nikolaev Nikolay Mikhailovich attacked Lvov as part of the 6th Guards Tank Corps.

The Red Army broke through to the Vistula, where the Germans hastily created a line of defense. Here they have transferred considerable forces. Soviet troops had to cross the river, leading fierce battles. The crossing was swept through and through, and this significantly slowed the progress.

The battle for Przemysl

By the end of July, the Red Army withdrew to Przemysl. In the city the Germans were seriously entrenched. During the crossing of the Vistula, Nazi aircraft and artillery were fired directly, stopping the advance. Nikolai Mikhailovich was able to suppress the enemy's artillery fire that fired the Soviet units. After that, his anti-aircraft gun knocked down three planes. Virtually alone, the artillery valiantly reflected the raid on the raid, so the Red Army managed to develop the offensive and liberate Przemysl. In honor of this event, a festive salute was given in the capital of the USSR. For heroism and courage, the Order of the Supreme Council Nikolaev Nikolay Mikhailovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

After the end of the Lvov-Sandomierz operation, Nikolai fought and liberated Europe from the Nazis. In 1946 he returned to his native Syzran, where he lived until 1989. In addition to the hero's golden star, Nicholas received several medals and two Orders of the Great Patriotic War. His exploits are still remembered not only in his native city, but also throughout the former Soviet Union.
