Mzymta (river): embankment, beach (photo)

Mzymta - the river, whose name translates from the Kabardino-Circassian dialect, sounds like "mad", originating at an altitude of 2,980 meters above sea level. Its length does not reach 90 km - only 89 (the distance from the source to the mouth is 62 km). Taking into account the given data, it can be assumed that the name "mad" is fully justified. Particularly turbulent nature of the river affects during the melting of the snow, when its level rises to 5 meters

The origins of the beautiful river

Mzymta - the river, the source of which is located near Mount Loyub, spur of the Main Caucasian Range, is a typical mountain stream with an average slope of 33.5 m / km. Despite its relatively small length, it is the longest waterway that flows into the Black Sea from the territory of the Kuban. Mzymta is a river flowing from two high-mountain lakes Maly Kadryvach and Kadryachach (the most beautiful lake in the Krasnodar Territory), originating in the Caucasian state natural biosphere reserve, 44 km from the Krasnaya Polyana.

Beauty and sights of the riverbed

It flows through the most beautiful places - downstream on its bank meets the Emerald waterfall, whose height reaches 15 meters. Further on its way there are gorges, about which the poet said "a crack, dwelling of a snake". The Greek canyon formed the river, breaking through the ridge of Aibga - Achishkho. Below, making its way through the ridge of Akhsu-Katsirha, Mzymta forms its deepest canyon Ahtsu. Then follows the ridge of Ahshtyr. Overcoming it, the river forms the gorge of the Ahshtyr Gate. This canyon is interesting because on its right side at 120 meters above the river level is the Akhtyrskaya cave with the parking of an ancient man. It was discovered in 1903 by E. A. Martel, a scientist from France. Russian researchers have proved that the very first inhabitants of the cave were Neanderthals and settled it 70,000 years ago. On the remaining 19 kilometers the river gradually expands and acquires a more or less flat nature. It can be added that the area of the Mezhmutta catchment area is 885 square kilometers, and this is the largest of the pools providing Sochi with drinking water.

Source of drinking water

Mzymta is a river, the mouth of which is near Adler, the district of the city of Sochi. In the Black Sea, it flows into a large cone of removal, since not immediately the waves of the sea are extinguished by its rapid flow. As mentioned above, the river flows through the territory that belongs to the city of Sochi. Throughout this stream flow into this stream streams and rivulets. The largest tributaries are Psluh and Pudziko or Achipse, as well as Chvizhepsa, Tikha and Laura.

Port of Imeretinsky

The mouth of the Mzymta River is known for the fact that here is Adler, the largest district of Sochi. Now the cargo port of Sochi Imeretinsky, the first built in the post-Soviet period, was built in this place.

In addition, it is a universal seaport, which is made as a single complex of wave protection and berthing facilities. It was created primarily to ensure the uninterrupted construction of Sochi's Olympic facilities. After the Olympics, it was decided to redesign the port for a yacht marina for 600-700 yachts, and in 2014 the first stage of these grandiose plans was already implemented - a marina for 40 yachts was opened. The port is designed for 800 meters of coastline and according to the plan should have 8 berths.

The new birth of the waterfront

The embankment of the Mzymta river after the reconstruction, provided for in preparation for the Olympics, was inaugurated at the end of the last month of autumn of 2013. The opening was timed to coincide with the City Day.

You can imagine the joy of the city's residents and holidaymakers, given the fact that the last time it was repaired 40 years ago. The length of your favorite vacation spot and the center of public and cultural life of the district is 3 kilometers. It should be noted that the embankment was reconstructed considering all the time requirements - for people with disabilities in the necessary places there were ramps and tactile guiding elements that allow blind people to navigate along the way. The embankment is beautifully decorated, many cozy benches and stalls are scattered all along the walking route. If you want, you can rent rollers and bicycles here.

Modern beaches of a modern resort city

Of course, in Adler there is a beach near the river Mzymta. All the beaches of Adler have one distinctive feature - they are covered by a small round pebble. There is all the necessary infrastructure, plus dozens of cafes and souvenir shops. On the beaches, including the Mzymta River, you can do almost all kinds of sea sports - parasailing (parachute flight, tied to the boat), diving and windsurfing, you can ride a hydrocycle, a puck and a banana. Divers are actively using breakwaters. On the remote bank of Mzymta there is a nudist beach. You can get here from the central areas of Adler, fording a river. It is located at a distance of 500 meters from the pier.

Frenetic beauty

The beauty of the river is legendary. After the grandiose construction and reconstruction, which were subjected to all areas of Sochi, many sections of the river flowing through the central areas were hidden. But just outside the city the river Mzymta (photo attached) is amazing and captivating with its unusual beauty, which in verse is called "frantic", and the extraordinary purity of the water. Often, water is called a green emerald framed in silver rocks. The beauty of the river is sung by not one poet. In certain areas of the river there is trout, including rainbow, and spawns Black Sea salmon.

The power of the river

It remains to tell how the flood of the Mzymta River flows. The last, which happened in March 2013, blurred and demolished the dam, 700 builders were evacuated. The dam was quickly rebuilt, but what kind of power should the river that carried it! On March 13, the river emerged from the coast as a result of a continuous rainstorm for a long time. The storm and the downpour of 2009 washed away the port and brought down all the structures to the Mzymta river.

Healing and improving component

There are a lot of mineral springs in the Mzymta river basin. The most famous and largest of them is Narzan spring Chvizhepsa, which is located in the village of Medvezhy corner. "Water-hero" - so translated the word "Narzan" is pleasant to the taste and really invigorates. The taste is given to carbon dioxide.

The water in this source contains a sufficient number of useful elements, such as iodine, manganese, bromine, zinc and many others. But the content in it of an inflated norm of arsenic made it not useful, but harmful. Scientists have found a way to remove the excess of this element. The resulting table water is sold in Sochi stores. And, of course, on this turbulent beautiful river for visitors descents and alloys are arranged. Extreme fans are waiting for jumping and rafting, descent along canyons and rafting on catamarans. There are also famous Caucasian dolmens (the oldest funerary constructions), alpine meadows, relic groves - all the beauties and sights can not be counted, they are better to see.
