Mushrooms poddubikovi: description and photo

It is very rare to find fungi in the forest. This is a kind of tubular called Boletus luridus, which grow in deciduous forests and form mycorrhizas with oaks and lindens. Mushroom poddubovik can be confused with white because of external similarities. Fruit body has a thick fleshy leg and a rounded cap. But there are a lot of differences, the main thing is the blue flesh on the cut.

In many areas, you can often find a bitter analogue - Boletus radicans. But it has several other forms and looks more like an overgrown moss. The places of distribution are the same as those of edible brothers. Below is a bitter mushroom poddubovik (photo 2).

Edible mushrooms podduboviki begin to grow relatively early - from the end of May and early June. Then there is a break for two months, and in early August and before frosts they appear again. They are much less common than other tubular species. It is a great success to find them in hardwood more often. After all, fungi podduboviki have a pleasant taste and excellent aroma. And they are very fond of forest rodents. And if lucky enough to find not eaten boletus, then this can be considered a double success. Usually mushrooms podduboviki roll with already bitten leg.

The leg is a cylindrical barrel of bright yellow color with a distinct reddish mesh all over the surface. The diameter reaches 2-5 cm, and the height - only 4-12 cm. Poddubovik looks very stocky and dense bogatyr. At the point of contact with the ground the leg is slightly thickened and has a very dark reddish hue, sometimes brown or black. The flesh is also red at the base, higher, closer to the cap, it is yellow. When the incision is green, and then turns blue. It has a delicate characteristic aroma.

Poddubovik can have different shades of the cap: from light olive to bright orange, often yellow, brown, sometimes even red. The surface is smooth, without wrinkles, dry, velvety to the touch. At old fruiting bodies it becomes bare, at pressing clearly visible blue prints. At the very beginning of growth, the cap is firmly pressed against the leg, its edges are bent downward. Later it opens slightly, but always remains spherical, round, with a yellow tubular bottom layer. In the largest specimens, the diameter of the cap reaches 20 cm, but usually the dimensions are much more modest - from 7 to 12 cm.

Spore powder of dark yellow color. Tubular layer 15-25 mm in length. The pores are free, olive in maturity, the young fungus - bright red, pressing blue.

Mushrooms podduboviki edible, they are used in fried and cooked and for making sauces. The first broth after boiling should be drained, repeated boiling is necessary for 10-15 minutes.

According to some sources, cooked podduboviki can not be combined with alcohol.

When processing Boletus luridus on the fingers remains the same bluish coating. By the bluish pulp, the poddubovik can be distinguished from its twin - a mushroom. The outlines of mushrooms are very similar, but the coloring will not allow the experienced mushroom picker to confuse them. The white one never has a grid pattern on the leg; in the case of the boleth, it is clearly expressed, and the red grid is superimposed on the yellow background. The flesh is also lemon-colored, and the fungus itself refers to the bluish tubular.
