Moscow-Silver Ponds: we travel around the Moscow region

History

An ancient settlement known since the XVI century. In these places there were battles with Crimean Tatars and battles of the Time of Troubles. From there, Soviet troops advanced to the offensive in December 1941 in a western direction. Here was born the military marshal Vasily Chuikov and many other persons who made a tangible contribution to the history of the country: the heroes of the war of 1812 and the Decembrists, actors and composers, writers and athletes.

At different times, the Silver Ponds belonged to the princes of the Silver-Obolensky, Cherkasy, Sheremetyev dynasties.

The city of Silver Ponds is located on the river Osetr in an ecologically clean area of the Moscow region. The main activity of the population is agrarian production. Here you can always find natural vegetables from home gardens and fresh livestock products. There are no large industrial enterprises, the city is simply buried in greenery. Dense forests, spacious fields and deep rivers can be safely called natural sights. A special love for the magnificent scenery is nourished by creative individuals, they will appreciate this magnificence.

In the region there are three rivers: Kudesna, Mordves, Berezinka.

As already mentioned, the distance Moscow - Silver Ponds is 180 km. In the neighborhood are Zaraisk and Kashirsky districts of the region. Neighbors can be called the Tula and Ryazan regions. Silver Ponds during its existence and due to peculiarities of geographical location belonged to the Tula region (1939) and was part of the Stupino district of the Moscow region (1963). In 2005, the working settlement was transformed into a city settlement.

Infrastructure

The population of Silver Ponds is 10 000 people. There is everything necessary for life: cafes, shops, post office, banks, beauty salons, a house of culture, temples, schools, kindergartens, art and music schools, a school of Olympic reserve and two sports schools, a children's creativity house, a hotel.

Among them, a monument and bust to Marshal Chuikov, his house-museum, a monument to the leader of the world proletariat, VI Lenin, a stella to the dead soldiers and a monument to the fallen in hot spots.

In the cultural center "Heritage" there is a museum room of the national artist Sergey Dmitrievich Stolyarov.

In the city there are two magnificent churches: the Temple of the Sign of the Blessed Virgin, built in the beginning of the twentieth century (more precisely, in 1914) and the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, erected in 1835. Currently, small churches are being rebuilt throughout the district.

How to get there?

The road Moscow - Silver Ponds will lead to the federal highway M4 "Don", the village is not far from it. The federal highway M6 "Caspian" leading to Astrakhan passes through the district, and the road Kashira - Silver Ponds - Kimovsk.

In Silver Ponds there is a railway station and a bus station. Therefore, for those who like to travel by public transport, you can get here from the capital by train or bus. The journey takes about three hours.

By Train

The first train through the Silver Ponds was held in 1898.

Distance Moscow - Silver ponds can be crossed by train from Paveletsky railway station, but, unfortunately, the indirect route - you will have to change at Uzunovo station. The trip takes 3.5-5.5 hours.

You can get by passing trains of the southern direction, coming from Paveletsky railway station. Their number increases during the holiday season. Travel time is from three to four hours. The travel will cost 400-500 rubles.

By bus

The most accessible type of public transport is the bus. From the metro station "Krasnogvardeiskaya" on the route Moscow - Silver Ponds every day takes 10-11 buses. The cost of tickets varies between 390-430 rubles. Travel time is three hours.

Bus Moscow - Silver Ponds arrives on Sovetskaya Street, from where you can get to any part of the city on foot or by taxi. The fare for a taxi ranges from 200 rubles.

From "Krasnogvardeyskaya" to the bus station is three minutes walk. Exit towards the first car from the center. When exiting through the glass subway doors, turn right, walk along the underground passage about five meters to the left and go up the stairs to the city. The first bus departs in the morning at 9:15, the last one at 19:45 in the evening.
