Metro "Timiryazevskaya" on the map of Moscow

A very important object of the urban transport system in the northern part of the capital is the metro station "Timiryazevskaya". Let's take a closer look at its features, binding to other transport communications and various attractions located in close proximity to it.

From the history

The first passengers metro station "Timiryazevskaya" took in the spring of 1991. In the operating system, it joined the launch site between the Otradnoye and Savyolovskaya stations. On Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line it is located between the stations "Petrovsko-Razumovskaya" and "Dmitrovskaya". The station is not part of the interchange nodes, and therefore the daily flow of passengers passing through its vestibules is quite moderate. The laying of new metro lines through this region is not planned, and it is not destined to become a transfer station for Timiryazevskaya. There are currently no plans for radical reconstruction of the station.

Architectural features

By its constructive type of metro station "Timiryazevskaya" is a single-vaulted station of deep laying. Typically, the stations at this depth are designed and built on a three-vaulted scheme. And in this sense "Timiryazevskaya" is unique. In addition, it was erected in a closed way, and this type of construction is rarely used in the construction of single-vaulted structures of an underground type. In the construction of this station, Moscow metro construction workers were practicing construction technologies, which were subsequently successfully applied at other sites. The metro station "Timiryazevskaya" is one of the deepest in the entire Moscow metro. The main station hall is strongly extended in length. In general, the architectural appearance of the station is rather restrained and does not pretend to have an external effect. The ground facilities of the project were not provided, the city is accessed through a system of underground crossings on Dmitrovskoye Shosse.

Station decoration

The conceptual motive of the design intent in decorating the station's interior is the dedication to the famous academician Timiryazev. This is displayed both in the name of the transport object itself, and in the name of the entire northern direction of this subway line. Marble and granite of light tones prevail in the interior decoration of the premises. The floor is lined with dark granite with lighter in tone marble implications. Travel walls are lined with marble of light green color. All the color range, in which the interior is designed, contains a reference to the works of the famous Russian scientist, whose name is the station. The existing interior of the central hall suffered significantly during one of the repairs. The metro station "Timiryazevskaya" lost, for unknown reasons, a decorative composition on vegetable themes, originally located in the end part of the hall. On the central line of the hall there is a row of columns with fluorescent lamps. Columns end in the upper part with stylized metallic colors.

Moscow: metro Timiryazevskaya in the city infrastructure

The station is located on Dmitrovskoye Highway - one of the main thoroughfares of the capital, heading north. This is a very lively place in the business and commercial life of Moscow. In addition to large residential areas, in this area are many administrative institutions, trade and service structures. In addition to the Dmitrov highway, you can get to the Yablochkov street from the station. For those who go to the city, this place is traditionally considered convenient for a transfer to an electric train from the metro. Timiryazev line here closely approaches the railway platform of the same name, located on the Savyolovsky direction of the Moscow railway. The platform "Timiryazevskaya" exit is carried out through an underground passage.

Monorail transfer

But from the metro station it is possible to transfer not only to the suburban train going to the area from the Savyolovsky railway station. So there were town-planning circumstances that the toponym "Timiryazevskaya" on the territory of Moscow designated as three objects of urban transport infrastructure. In addition to the metro station and the railway platform, the name "Timiryazevskaya" is also the terminal station of the Moscow monorail transport system. It is located immediately behind the railway line. This kind of transport communication in Moscow is still available in one copy, and nothing is known yet about whether this system will somehow develop in the future. There are justifiable doubts about its feasibility and feasibility. At present, the monorail line is completely unprofitable. Its operation not only does not pay for itself, but also requires a constant investment of significant financial resources to maintain the already constructed infrastructure in working order.
