On the first or second day begins to appear pronounced meningeal syndrome: fever with a rise in temperature to 40 degrees, which takes place in two stages. The second sign of serous meningitis can safely be called an impenetrable headache, which is aggravated by movement and not removed by anesthetics. Another symptom of the disease is nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The child may have a hang-up syndrome - when lifting the baby by the armpits, he flexes his legs reflexively. As a rule, serous viral meningitis passes quite quickly. Somewhere in 5 days the temperature is normalized and the disease recedes. But it is worth remembering that in each specific case the symptoms may differ or be less pronounced.

Treatment of the disease

Prevention of serous meningitis, of course, helps protect the body from the disease. But if you are still ill, you should know the main thing - serous meningitis is caused by viruses, and antibiotics are completely useless here. They can only be assigned to you until the moment when the diagnosis is made accurately. In general, antiviral drugs of a wide spectrum of action are prescribed. They include "Interferon" and "Arpetol", the "Acyclovir" remedy can still be prescribed. If the patient's immunity is greatly weakened, then he may be prescribed an immunoglobulin course. The patient is certainly shown bed rest.

Prevention of serous meningitis

At a time when outbreaks of meningitis are possible, it is worthwhile to limit bathing in open water. Drink only boiled water, you must follow the rules of personal hygiene and wash vegetables and fruits. In general, all the prevention of serous meningitis comes down to adhering to the elementary rules about which we all know. But there is one more method that can prevent an ailment. In early childhood, a vaccine is given against meningitis, which lasts about 4 years. Well and the main thing - use more vitamins, and then the immunity will cope with any illness. Remember, prevention of serous meningitis is much easier and easier to cure it!
