Dorsopathy: what is it? How to recognize, cure and prevent an ailment?

Dorsopathy is the pathology of the musculoskeletal system with a pronounced pain syndrome, which arises from degenerative changes in the spine.

Dorsopathy: what is it? Causes

Among the main causes of the disease can be identified:

  • Low motor activity;
  • Irregular and unbalanced nutrition;
  • Heavy loads on the spine;
  • Adverse working conditions, which combine high humidity and low temperature;
  • Regular stay in an uncomfortable position.

Dorsopathy of the spine is most often found and, in addition to the above reasons, can arise because of hereditary predisposition, trauma, impaired motor function, cartilage or muscle systems. Excess weight plays a negative role.

Dorsopathy: what is it? Stages of

  1. Chondrosis. At this stage, the disease is almost impossible to diagnose, because it has no symptoms other than discomfort.
  2. Lesions of the spine, adjacent vertebrae, intervertebral cartilage and joints. Because of this, the physiological distance between the vertebrae is disturbed, which leads to the squeezing of the nerve endings, vessels and the appearance of severe pain.
  3. The formation of intervertebral hernias due to a violation of the physiological position of the vertebrae.
  4. Displacement of the vertebrae, leading to a restriction of motor activity.

Dorsopathy: what is it? Symptoms

As a result, the development of the disease leads to difficult flow of blood and oxygen to the brain, and this, in turn, is the cause of weakness, insomnia, irritability, etc. As a rule, the disease occurs in the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Cervical dorsopathy manifests itself in symptoms such as pain and tinnitus, pain in the shoulders, hands and heart, loss of hearing, vision, impaired coordination. Thoracic dorsopathy is expressed by pain in the ribs with deep inspiration, walking and other loads on the ribs. Intervertebral hernia in this department of the spine practically does not arise, since it is inactive. Lumbar dorsopathy is the most painful of all kinds. Its appearance is characterized by constant pains, increasing with any movement and giving back to the pelvic and even thighbones. Since the pain provokes low mobility, it leads to muscle tension and as a consequence to the curvature of the spine.

Dorsopathy: what is it? Treatment

Treatment of the disease should include a set of activities such as exercise therapy, massage of all parts of the spine, manual and physical therapy. With advanced stages, medication and spinal traction can not be avoided . Therefore, if you find yourself or your loved ones any discomfort in the spine, you should consult a doctor to establish an accurate diagnosis and prescribe suitable therapy. In the event that the dorsopathy of the spine is not treated, it can lead to a complete loss of motor function or the development of infections that lead not only to physical, but also mental abnormalities.
