Making a work record: a formality or necessity

No doubt, each of us once had or will come across such a procedure as the registration of a work book. This process is not all enthralled, and there are many reasons for this. In how important this procedure is, let's try to understand this article in detail.

So, let's start again. Making a work record is nothing more than a necessity. Why? Yes, because not for nothing since childhood, we were told that this is the most important document on the work activity of a person, as well as the indicator of the length of service of an employee as a professional. Parents told us about this, this is also said in the legislation.

When a person arranges to work for the first time, the first thing an employer is required to do is to create and maintain this important document for the employee. The registration of the work book must be made on the fifth day after admission to the workplace. This rule does not apply to those employers who are natural persons, and in the event of concluding an employment contract with other companies and organizations.

The employer or the persons authorized by him are obliged to enter information about the work in the work book of each employee. In the case of part-time work, such information is entered at the place of the main service of a person and only at his request. All records are created on the basis of a document that is able to confirm the availability of part-time work. Usually such document is the original of the reference from the place of work with all relevant seals and signatures, and also having a specific date. In addition, such a desire must be expressed exclusively in the form of a written application.

The registration of the work record must begin with the completion of the title page. On the same page should be the signature of the person who is responsible for issuing labor books and, of course, the seal of the company. Also in this document should be indicated such information: full name of the employee without abbreviations, year and date of birth, education, specialty or profession. Also, the work book must necessarily have the owner's signature as a confirmation of the specified information. All the information for filling the work is taken from the relevant documents (passports, education documents and so on).

As you can see, the registration of the work record is quite a serious and necessary procedure. But there are such cases that a person needs to draw up a duplicate of this document. The law specifies cases when it is possible to issue it. So, a duplicate of the work record book is issued when there is a record of dismissal or transfer to another job in the workbook if the employee lost the document himself or it was done by the officials of the organization. Also a duplicate is issued if the previous work record has lost its useful form. For example, burned or soaked, and so on.

The registration of a duplicate of the work book takes place on the basis of documents confirming the length of service, or on the basis of a previous work record, if the latter has survived. Also, when making a duplicate in the right-hand corner on the title page, the "Duplicate" mark is mandatory on the top.
