MA Sholokhov, "Don stories". "Don Stories" by Sholokhov: a short summary

Mikhail Aleksandrovich Sholokhov was a witness and participant in the bloody events of the civil war that swept our country in the early twentieth century. The attitude of the Cossacks to the revolution, the severity of the choice of the right side and the need to raise arms against the brothers - this was all experienced by the writer himself. And this experience turned into "Don's stories" by Sholokhov, a brief summary of which we will consider in the article.

About the work

The stories included in the collection are dry, emotionless and therefore incredibly authentic stories of the life of different people who have fallen under the ruthless wheels of revolutionary changes. Even death is depicted with extreme commonness, in which there is an incredible tragedy of time, where leaving from life is familiar and unremarkable.

To draw conclusions give the reader "Don's stories" Sholokhov. The summary of the work can serve as another proof of this.

Summary of some stories

In total, the collection includes twenty stories, but we will consider only some of them, since the framework of one article does not allow us to describe all Sholokhov's Don's stories. A summary of the three works will be given below.

"Prodkomissar"

The protagonist is Ignat Bodiagin, he is a food commissioner (food commissar), that is, a person in charge of collecting and surrendering the crop to the state. He goes to his native village, from where his father drove six years ago. Then Ignat interceded for the employee, whom the elder Boyagin had struck. Returning, the son learns that his father was sentenced to death for refusing to take his bread. Among the reds, Bodiagin the elder finds out Ignat and curses, predicts that his grief will still be poured out to his son, because Cossacks go to the village to exterminate Soviet power. They are shot in front of the son of Bodiagin the elder.

The discord between close people perfectly conveys a summary. "Don's stories" Sholokhov so good that without embellishment reflect the harsh reality.

The Cossacks are approaching, the battle is approaching. Ignat and Teslenko, the commandant of the tribunal, are forced to linger in time to surrender their bread. In the village begins an uprising. Teslenko and Ignat are forced to flee. On the way, he sees a child in a snowdrift. He takes the boy to his saddle. Now the horse is not going so fast, and the chase is getting closer.

Realizing that I will not be able to leave, Ignat and Teslenko tie the boy to the saddle, letting the horse gallop, but they themselves remain and perish.

"Aleshkino heart": a summary

Sholokhov's Don's stories are valuable for their historicity. They allow you to experience and experience the terrible events of the past time and now.

For two years, drought and hunger have reigned. Alyosha's family did not eat bread for five months. The boy manages to get the foals, and in the evening, his little sister dies. The girl is buried, but the dogs dig it out and eat it. Polya, Alyosha's elder sister, climbs into the house of Makarchychi, a wealthy neighbor. He finds a soup in a pot, gorges and falls asleep. The mistress, returning, kills her and throws her body. The next night, Alyosha climbs to Makarchikha, who catches him and beats him.

Mother Leszki is dying, the boy runs away from home and gets into the zagotkontoru. Here he meets with the political commissar Sinitsyn, who feeds the boy. Alyoshka is hired to work and goes to the club to listen to how books are read. Finding out where the boy is disappearing, the owner beats him.

Mikhail Sholokhov does not spare his heroes. "Don stories" sometimes even seem unnecessarily cruel, but all this because it depicts a fierce time in them.

Alyoshka learns about the attack of the bandits and warns Sinitsyn. At night, the Reds repel the attack, and the bandits hide in the house. Alyosha injures a grenade with a fragment, but the boy survives.

"Another's blood"

This story is completed by M. Sholokhov's Don Stories. Grandfather Gavrila's only son, Peter, disappeared in the war against the Reds. A new power has come, and the old man has no one to help with the au pair.

In the spring Gavrila and his old woman begin to plow the land, still hoping that the son will return. The old man orders him a sheepskin coat, boots and puts them in a chest.

Comrade Petra Prokhor returns. He talks about the death of a friend. Gavril can not believe this and goes to the steppe to call his son at night.

The surplus-meal begins. To Gavril come to take the bread, he argues and is not going to give him what was acquired by excessive work. Then the Cossack arrives and shoots the orderlies. One of them remains alive, and his grandfather brings him to the hut. Old men take care of the guy. He comes to his senses, is called Nicholas, but Gavril and his wife call him Peter.

Gradually Nicholas-Peter recovers, begins to help with the household, Gavril invites him to stay. But then a letter comes from the factory where Nikolai grew up, and he leaves. There is no limit to the grief of the old people, who again lost their son, even if they were adopted.

Conclusion

The tragic and joyless "Don's stories" by Sholokhov. A brief summary is an excellent proof. Too many deaths and human grief in these stories.
