Light industry of the world its types and components

The light industry of the world is a whole branch of the world economy, which directly participates in the formation of state budgets of many countries of the world. It unites a large number of industries and sub-sectors, among them there are such basic: sewing, shoe, textile. It is these areas that have developed strongly, and the world's industry can no longer do without their products.

The light industry of the world in the modern global economy has slightly changed the registration. Now, not developed countries have large volumes of production of light industry products, especially the three mentioned categories. At present, this type of industry has received a serious impetus and development in developing countries. In this regard, many developed countries have decided not to compete with cheaper products in this segment of the market, and focus their production on the release of expensive branded goods. A striking example of this can be the garment industry, as many European couturiers and fashion designers are known, who, with small volumes of production, nevertheless receive a significant profit due to the exclusivity of goods.

Let's consider the main branches of light industry.

Textile light industry in the world over the past decade has changed significantly. And the main reason for this was the scientific and technological revolution that occurred in the second half of the last century. If before all the textiles consisted mainly in the manufacture of cotton products and fabrics, and a small segment occupied such materials as wool, linen, artificial fiber. At present, this branch of industry has significantly expanded its range due to the increased use of various synthetic (chemical) fibers and materials in textiles. The textile industry on a global scale is growing at an incredible rate. Today, Asia is the main region, which occupies up to 70% of the total volume of textiles. And if we consider the textile industry from the position of the category of goods and products, then we can safely note that the Asian countries supply to the world market up to 50% of all woolen and cotton fabrics. The largest producers of cotton fabrics are China (supplies up to 30%), India (almost 10%), the United States, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia. By wool fabrics the situation is almost the same. China's share in this segment is 15%, followed by Italy with 14%, Japan, the US, Turkey and India, and several Western European countries are completing this list. But the domestic industry, despite a large share in the production of natural raw materials for textiles, still has a large decline in production, and at the moment there can not be competitive imports without special state development and support programs. But so far no one is worried about this issue at the state level.

Following the textile one should note the garment industry. The sewing light industry of the world is engaged in the production of clothing and linen and many other products. The picture in this industry is essentially different from the textile one. The leading exporters of such products in the world are China, South Korea, India, Colombia, Taiwan. And the developed countries, as already mentioned above, specialize only in small volumes of elite, fashionable and individual products.

The footwear light industry in the world economy in relation to the previous and other sectors has been most affected by migration to countries with a developing economy. This is largely due to the cheaper labor of workers in such countries. Leading position on a global scale again leaves behind China. According to modern estimates, China's products account for up to 40% of the total consumer market in the world.

Therefore, summing up, we can say that recently the center of light industry on a planetary scale will shift significantly from Western Europe and the USA to the countries of Asia.
