Kirill Benediktov: biography and creativity

Kirill Benediktov is a Russian historian and political scientist, as well as a science fiction writer. His literary career began in the 90s, and already then the author came to the first success. He earned the glory of the creator of gloomy novels about the human present and the future.

Biography

Kirill Benediktov was born on March 2, 1969 in Minsk. Until the age of seven he lived in Belarus, and then moved with his family to the Russian capital. According to the author's own statement, the main meeting in his life occurred in the 5th grade. Then he began to attend the lessons of the history of the teacher from the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences and literally fell in love with the ancient civilizations and disappeared people.

Therefore, it is not surprising that after graduation, Kirill Benediktov decided to enter the Faculty of History at Moscow State University. Here he studied the pre-Columbian civilizations of Latin America. However, Benediktov did not choose the profession of archaeologist and received a specialty in the new and modern history of Europe and America.

In 1993, a few hours before the start of the coup, immediately after graduation, the young man went to the Belgian college, where he studied the activities of peacekeepers and ethnic conflicts. After that he worked in South Korea. I was able to defend my Ph.D. thesis on the political activities of the OSCE in the Balkans. The author uses the acquired knowledge in the field of history and modern politics in his books, which makes them even more realistic and lively.

Creation

For the first time Cyril Benediktov was published in 1990, it was a story dedicated to the city of the dead. After that, two books immediately came out, which brought to the writer real fame and recognition: "The war in Asgard", "Testament of the Night". These stories about the immortal monster and fascist revenge were a great success and received many awards in the field of fantasy. After that, the author took part in the project "Ethnogenesis" as the author of "Blockade" and "Guardian of Idea".

In addition, Benediktov has an author's column in the newspaper "Vzglyad". And on the channel Russia.ru the program "The Black Heart of Moscow" was broadcast, which told about the mystical places of our capital.

Benediktov Cyril, whose books are of great interest and today, for his literary career was not just awarded the writer's awards. So, in 2010 he received the "Chekhov Prize" of the Writers' Union. The ceremony was held in the Central House of Writers in a small hall. Benediktov is the author of about a dozen novels and more than 20 stories. In addition, the writer's novel "Testament of the Night" was screened by director S. Zhigunov in 2008.

"The War for Asgard"

This book was published in 2003 and immediately was highly appreciated by readers and awarded a considerable number of various awards in the field of Russian fiction. The events unfold in 2053. The main character Colonel Vlad Basmanov, known as the terrorist Zero, will enter the Asgard base and destroy the facility, code-named "Tollan", otherwise billions of people will be doomed.

"Snake and Mongoose"

The book was written in 2012 and published in the framework of the project "Ethnogenesis". The author tells of a CIA agent named Smith, who is fired from service because of suspicion of helping prisoners escape from Guantánamo. At this time the Chinese Chen comes to him. He offers Smith assistance in reinstatement, and in exchange for this, the former agent must kill bin Laden and take the snake statue from the terrorist. To facilitate the task, Chen gives Smith a Mongoose figure, which should block the power of the Snake. To fulfill the task, he will have to face the Israeli special forces, the American fur seals and the mafia of the damned.

The book "Snake and Mongoose" received many positive reviews from readers. They noted an exciting story, a well-written detective story and an attractive protagonist.
