Derzhavin and Shirvindt: biographies, work in a duet and filmography

Duets of artists working on the stage, especially in the humorous genre, a lot. However, the creative tandem, created by Mikhail Derzhavin and Alexander Shirvindt, is perhaps one of the most striking. Evidence of this is the undying love of viewers for a duet, which has more than half a century.

Derzhavin Mikhail Mikhailovich

His favorite artist was born in 1936. His father - one of the leading actors of the Vakhtangov Theater, MS Derzhavin - was friends with many famous Vakhtangovites. Despite the fact that as a child, the boy painted pretty well, family traditions and the artistic environment were stronger. In 1954, Michael entered the Shchukin School, which, after graduating, began performing on the stage of Lenkom, and later in the theater of Satire. There he formed as an actor and played more than 60 roles.

Derzhavin embodied a lot of images, both in the cinema and in the theater, but the popularity of the actor brought in the extraordinary "Kabachka 13 chairs" - a program that enjoyed extraordinary success among viewers.

Shirvindt Alexander Anatolievich

Idol of women and handsome man. It was such compliments for many years that the press was awarded by the constant partner on the stage of Mikhail Derzhavin - Alexander Shirvindt.

The artist was born on July 19, 1934, and also in the theatrical environment, although in music, as the mother of Alexander Anatolyevich worked in the philharmonic society, and his father was a violinist at the Bolshoi Theater. Apparently, that's why Shirvindt as a child not only studied music, but also graduated from the school of ballroom dancing.

He was cool towards musical activity, but he graduated from the Schukinsky School with distinction, after which he performed for 13 years at the Lenin Komsomol Theater. In 1970, Shirvindt began working as an actor of the Satire Theater, where he played more than 30 roles.

Great influence on the development of satirical talent Shirvindt had theatrical "skits", which he organized in the House of the actor. And he acted in the role of director, and in the role of entertainer, and as an actor.

Unlike Derzhavin, who showed himself primarily as a theater actor, Shirvindt filmed a lot, including with Mikhail Mikhailovich in a comedy based on the story of Jerome K. Jerome. But a popular film actor, he made the role of a friend of the protagonist in the comedy "The Irony of Fate, or With Easy Steam."

A duet, tested for years

Talented actors - Derzhavin and Shirvindt - became friends much earlier than their stage activities began. They lived next door, not far from the Nikitsky Gate, their parents often met at common acquaintances, and the Shchukin school could not help playing its role.

In general, despite their external dissimilarity and different characters, Derzhavin and Shirvindt have much in common, and even their theatrical destinies are similar.

The satirical duet of artists was born on all known theatrical "cabbages". It was on these bright, funny and witty ideas that the style of this tandem formed, characterized by intellectuality and the absence of vulgar jokes in favor of viewers with bad taste.

Michael Derzhavin and Alexander Shirvindt have their own, recognizable mask-images. Shirvindt appears before the audience as a melancholy, slightly cynical skeptic. It seems that he is constantly in a slightly tired, relaxed state and not too verbose. However, each of his phrases is so precise, bright and enchanting that it is worthy of becoming an aphorism.

As for Mikhail Derzhavin, on stage he puts on the mask of a very direct, gullible and overly strict person. And these seemingly quite serious characters, interacting, give rise to a real cascade of jokes and satirical reprises. At the same time, the viewer does not even remember how many years Shirvindtu and Derzhavin, and after all they are very old (81 and 79 respectively), but not with the soul!

Derzhavin and Shirvindt on the stage

The famous stage duet with the same success and performs in the performances, and on television, taking part in concerts, benefit performances and TV shows.

They can be seen together in the "Inspector", and in "Small stories of the big house", and in "Concert for the theater and orchestra", etc.

In the stage biography of the duet, there are also performances staged specifically for him, such as "Lucky-Neschastlivtsev" and "Greetings from Tsyurupa."

Derzhavin and Shirvindt in the cinema

On the set Alexander Anatolyevich and Mikhail Mikhailovich also met often, but still less often than in the theater. If you turn to the cinema, you can recall such films with Shirvindt and Derzhavin as "Save a drowning man", "Winter evening in Gagra", "Womanizer", "Nuts" and others. But this is a drop in the sea compared to the number of performances in the theater and on television. In addition, the roles played by the artists in these films are not too well remembered by the audience. Except for one. It's about the enchanting comedy "Three in a boat, not counting a dog", shot by N. Birman in 1979. And in this movie is not even a duet, but a trio of magnificent satirical actors, consisting of Shirvindt, Derzhavin and Andrei Mironov.

Images created by artists on stage and in the cinema (even if they are episodic roles) are extraordinarily vivid and lively, and their stage duet is a harmonious unity of not just fine professionals but also highly intelligent people. And they are perfectly able to guess the trends of the times, and their performances are never obsolete and irrelevant.

Now you know how many years Shirvindtu and Derzhavin, what roles it played in the cinema and theater. It remains only to wish the famous artists longevity and new interesting roles!
