Since John was at odds with radio engineering and other electronics, he was instructed to provide the group with all the necessary equipment, to monitor its serviceability. The deacon coped with this well and even created his own amplifier with which the rockers toured. In addition, the bassist also dealt with economic issues, led all financial affairs. The remaining members of the team, knowing the excellent intellectual abilities of Deacon, fully trusted him, and in some vital personal situations consulted with him.
