Isofleks 191: properties, scope and storage features

Isoflex 191 is an electrical insulating composite material. Its components are a glass fabric of electro technical purpose, both sides of which are laminated with polyethylene terephthalate film. The composition of polyethylene on both sides and fiberglass between the layers of PET has a very high plasticity, which is very important in carrying out insulation works, since they are usually performed manually. For fixing, special binders are used that can provide adhesive adhesion at the junction point. This material is an analog of GTP-2Pl fiber.

Basic properties

The characteristic isoflex 191 has the following:

  1. High dielectric capacities.
  2. Excellent mechanical performance.
  3. Ease and ease of use.
  4. Low stiffness.
  5. High heat resistance.
  6. During the heating, there is no emission of harmful substances.
  7. Lack of smell.

The isoflex 191 can have a nominal thickness of 0.13 to 0.45 mm. The surface density depends on the thickness of the material and ranges from 194 to 670 g / m². In the initial state it is able to withstand a breakdown voltage of about 13 kV. After the material is subject to kinks, the breakdown voltage will drop to 9 kV, and at a high humidity and temperature of about 23 ° C, after 48 hours this figure will become even lower - about 6.5-8.0 kV. The breakdown voltage before the inflection can be 10 kV, and after the inflection it is 3 units smaller. At break, the relative elongation of the transverse direction is approximately 2%, and in the longitudinal direction - not less than three.

Application area

Isoflex 191 belongs to materials of a narrow directivity: it is used to equip steam insulation of electrical machines that have a maximum permissible operating temperature of 155 ° C, as evidenced by the designation F. These are low-voltage electric machines, traction motors, which need to equip a groove (interfacial) Isolation. With its help, interlayer gaskets for electric low-voltage machines are formed. It is also in demand for manual stator insulation, but here it is unacceptable to use the 191 isoflex for electrical insulation of devices and equipment designed for the highest class of heat resistance. The operating time is about 20 thousand hours.

Types and storage

Producers produce isoflex 191 Two types:

  1. In rolls. The weight of each of them is 50 kg, with a width of 1.20 m and a thickness of 0.13 to 0.30 mm. To maintain the integrity of the canvas when moving rolls, it is wound on a rigid bushing. Its internal diameter is 7.6 cm.
  2. In sheets. Their width is from 20 to 80 cm, and the length is 1.05-1.25 m.

The isoflex 191 0.15 roll is more in demand because it is easier to transport and store: it takes up less space and is easier to move.

The material can be stored for about a year, as evidenced by the manufacturer's warranty. But this provided that during the delivery and unloading the packaging was not broken. In addition, all the conditions necessary for preserving the properties of the material must be provided in the storage location: about 75% - the humidity level, the temperature is not lower than -10 and not higher than + 35 ° С. All these requirements are specified in GOST No. 26103.
