Is acupuncture useful: reviews and opinions

Acupuncture (another name - acupuncture) appeared as a method of fighting diseases in China about 3 thousand years ago. According to the religious views of Taoism, a certain energy of life passes through the human body, consisting of Yin and Yang. In the body there are 12 meridians (channels) through which this energy flows: 6 of them belong to Yan, and the other 6 - Yin. Each of these meridians is directly connected with certain organs and parts of the body - thus, we have a meridian of the lungs, a meridian of the heart, and so on.

In a healthy body, life energy circulates freely along the meridians. But if in the body there are any failures, disturbances and pathologies, there is an imbalance in the circulation of energy flows. Acupuncture is an effective method of restoring vital energy, which was developed by Chinese medicine. Acupuncture at certain points of the body allows to release the passage of energy, blocks pain and conducts very effective therapy of a particular meridian and, consequently, the organ for which this meridian responds. Pressing on the so-called Chinese pulses on the patient's wrist, an experienced doctor-acupuncturist can detect some hidden diseases.

In the last century, acupuncture has found its fans in the West. The works of Chinese scholars, both ancient and living in later ages and in modern times, are translated and studied. It must be said that modern Chinese medicine also widely uses acupuncture. Reviews about acupuncture in Western Europe are ambiguous. Some doctors note the ability of acupuncture to block pain, someone uses it as an additional method for drug therapy, and some call such a method charlatanism.

The most unanimous are doctors in the high assessment of acupuncture as an anesthetic. The pain impulse is transmitted from the diseased organ to the brain through the nerve channels. Correctly placed needle allows you to cover this channel, and the person simply does not feel pain. In China, during the delivery, dental operations and even in surgical operations, acupuncture is used. The patients' testimonies indicate that they experience strange, unusual, slightly tickling, but in no case painful sensations.

However, Western physicians have a slightly different view of pain: the body often signals painful impulses about the presence of a serious disease, and if these impulses block acupuncture, the central nervous system will not respond to this disease. Therefore, doctors call for the use of acupuncture as an anesthetic only in some cases.

Acupuncture is not only able to "block" the painful channels, but it also helps the body to release endorphins and enkephalins that are natural "opiates" in large numbers. Chinese doctors increase the secretion of these anesthetics by acupuncture, combined with massage and warming. For a long history of acupuncture, doctors have identified a lot of points on the human body (they are called trigger points), which have a direct connection with these or other organs. Sometimes these points are located quite far from the organ for which they respond - so, on the foot are located points related to the heart, the liver.

People who have experienced acupuncture, reviews, as a rule, leave enthusiastic. Positive effect is seen after the first session. The treatment is painless, does not cause any allergies. With the help of acupuncture, you can cope with many ailments: with nervous disorders, rheumatic, skin, allergic diseases. Especially effective is acupuncture in osteochondrosis.
