Hyacinth, planting and nursing home and garden.

Hyacinths are perennial bulbous flowers belonging to the family of lily flowers. In total, there are about 30 species of these plants, which can have a variety of shades. Due to their exquisite beauty, hyacinths are very popular all over the world, they can be grown both on the garden plot and at home.

Hyacinth, planting and care in the garden

Having good soil permeability, abundance of sun and lack of groundwater - these are the conditions preferred by hyacinth. Planting and caring for these flowers does not require too much effort, however, to make the plants successfully adopted, it is necessary to carry out certain activities. The flower garden area allocated for their cultivation should be prepared at least ten days before planting to ensure timely subsidence of the soil. The bottom of the pits intended for bulbs is covered with river sand up to 3 cm. Organic fertilizers are added to the soil: a three-year humus and a complex mineral composition. Depth of planting depends on the size of the bulbs, the layer of land above them should be three times larger than their length. If the soil on the site is light, the depth should be increased by 2 cm, if the heavy - reduce by the same distance.

Planting hyacinths is preceded by inspection of the bulbs, their sorting and treatment with faunadzol. Also they can be held in a solution of potassium permanganate for about half an hour. After the completion of the landing, the soil is filled with peat or humus, and also with dry leaves, straw or fir pads, which will protect plants from frost and death. It is best to land hyacinths on the eve of the first frosts. In the spring, the flower bed is freed from heaters before the end of the cold. In the period of growth, hyacinths need abundant light, and during the rest period they need to provide a shadow and limit the moistening of the soil. The rest of the time watering is done regularly. Blooming hyacinths can be fed with mineral fertilizers, after the flowering is completed, potash and phosphorus additives are used. It is worth noting that these plants do not like spraying.

Hyacinths look great in flower beds that have a convex shape, and wild varieties look the most elegant in rockeries. Time for excavating the bulbs is determined by the state of the leaves, which begin to turn yellow at the end of June. This point is important not to miss, because hyacinth can deeply grow into the ground and it will not be possible to find it. If the plants are left in the ground without a transplant, they will cease to bloom. After digging the bulbs must be dried and placed in sand for storage.

Hyacinth, planting and care at home

Hyacinth at home, care for which in many respects repeats garden activities, is grown in well-drained pots about 10 cm high. Bulbs are planted in early October. Sandy loamy soil should hide them by two-thirds, the tops are at the same level with the edges of the pots. After the planting is completed, the pots are covered with a heater - peat, sawdust, dry leaves or paper bags and kept at a temperature of 6-10 degrees, watering hyacinths with cold water as the soil dries. In the middle of December sprouts reach a height of about 10 cm and flowers can be installed in the room on the windowsill. Hyacinths need abundant watering. The optimal temperature in the room is about 23 degrees. Flowering begins about a month later, it can be significantly strengthened with mineral fertilizing.

Also these flowers can be grown without soil by placing bulbs in flowerpots with water, in which mineral fertilizers are added , so that the hyacinth hardly touches the water surface. The algorithm of care is similar to the traditional one, water in flowerpots must be changed every two weeks. After these simple actions, you can grow a beautiful hyacinth, planting and caring for which does not mean much trouble, and the flower will please the owners within 3-4 weeks.
