A very effective way to improve the land is to mulch the beds with everything that will later rot and thereby fertilize the soil. In the course is mown grass, weeds, sawdust and even paper. Mulching beds will not only fertilize the soil, but will reduce the need for irrigation twice! On seedlings, the seeds are sown in early March to a depth of 2 to 4 cm.
