The second kind of such tools - hillocks for potatoes with variable width of capture - is distributed most of all. The working tool of this mechanism can be adjusted to any width of the rows. To move it you need a fairly powerful motoblock - more than 3.5 l / s. Work with its use can be done on wet soil. At the same time, this equipment does not dry out the soil as much as the first type. However, it costs more and, of course, requires more energy.

The most convenient for today are disk hoggers for potatoes. This is the easiest type of equipment. They are unusually convenient to operate. Adjusted they can be under any width of rows. On them, less earth adheres, and the crests with their use are obtained above.

Often planters are planting potatoes with hillocks of this type. With the help of them, ridges are cut, and then the tubers are planted either in the ridges or in the furrows, as someone more suits. The landing material is covered with soil by the back stroke of the motor block. Worth such equipment is much more expensive than the first two types of hillers. However, given their extraordinary efficiency, it is most expedient to use them for treating potato fields.

In addition to hillers for motoblocks, there are also manual options. They are much less convenient to use. Many craftsmen make similar equipment themselves. The grip width is not adjustable. However, during the work, the width of the soil can be changed to cover the tip of the hiller more or less into the ground. If the rows are narrow, you do not need to put too much pressure on the handles. In the design of these models are provided knobs both in front and behind. When hilling equipment is moved by two people. Some workers pull the front, another pushes from behind. Such a mechanism can handle only small areas, as a lot of physical effort is expended.

The hilling and planting of potatoes by the haymaker-motoblock (as well as the manual version) significantly reduces the time and labor costs. A little to spend and buy such equipment for the suburban area, of course, is worth it.
