How to recognize the first signs of childbirth?

By the last month of pregnancy the child occupies a certain position in the uterine cavity, optimal for his appearance on this light. Most often the baby is located down head. This position in the mother's tummy takes the majority of children (about nine out of ten), and it is called the head presentation of the fetus.

At the same time, the child's chin is pressed against his chest. As the cervix is opened, the baby's head moves forward and takes up position in the small pelvis. This arrangement of the fetus is called the formation of the head of the fetus, it is at this point that many women note the belly drop.

During this period, the expectant mother easily tolerates all the "burdens" of pregnancy, as pressure on the stomach and diaphragm is significantly reduced. However, most women notice during this period attacks of heartburn and severe shortness of breath, as well as inconvenience and difficulty during walking.

It also happens that the child occupies the right position in the womb of the mother on the eve of the approaching birth.

The first signs of the approach of delivery

One of the first signs - the departure of the mucous plug in a pregnant woman, most often it has a light pink color. It was she who protected the future baby throughout the pregnancy from getting into the womb of infections and bacteria from the side of the vagina. Departure plug is due to softening of the uterine cavity before the onset of labor. It can go away in a few weeks, or a couple of hours before labor.

The first signs of childbirth are characterized by the outflow of amniotic fluid. This occurs immediately before the birth itself. When moving away from the mucous plug or leaving the water, you should contact your obstetrician or go straight to the nearest hospital.

In addition, most women note such early signs of childbirth as the strongest and sudden onset of diarrhea, stomach cramps and pain in the lower back.

Many mothers marked changes before the onset of labor , occurring at a psychological level. It was at this moment that they first learned what a maternal instinct is, manifested by a feeling of infinite love and affection for the unborn baby.

Such first signs of childbirth, as an unbridled desire to all have time to wash, re-wash and iron, are also experienced by most women. Although only a few days ago they did not even have the strength to get out of bed.

The most accurate first signs of labor are cramping pains in the abdomen and "shots" in the region of the lower back. And these signs do not stop, but become longer and more frequent.

If you notice the first signs of childbirth, you should immediately report this to the obstetrician-gynecologist, who leads your pregnancy. If this is not possible, call the ambulance immediately.

It is also worthwhile to consider separately signs of premature birth. A woman can experience stress or tone of the uterus. This creates additional pressure on the fetus and promotes its premature expulsion from the mother's womb.

Signs of premature birth:

  • The presence of abundant discharge with blood veins.
  • Strong, shooting pains in the lumbar region, which are becoming more pronounced and intense.

Women need to carefully monitor themselves and their health after the seventh month of pregnancy.
