Here everything depends not so much on your preferences as on the thickness of the material itself: if it is thick, then it should be placed on the wall only to the side. By the way, you need to start from the nearest window, because in this case the seams between the bands will be less noticeable.

Measure the height of the room should be very carefully. Since it is not so simple to paste wallpaper in most domestic apartments with not very straight ceilings, it is better to measure the height before sticking each strip.
