How to make original panels with your own hands

Due to special ergonomic and spatial requirements, the furniture in the kitchen is located along one or two walls, and the wall in the dining area remains free and empty, which does not look good. A successful design solution in this case can be a decorative panel that occupies most of the wall, made in the same style as the main kitchen space. What is it and how can you make a picture with your own hands without having enough skills in this case?

Panels of sunflower seeds, cereals or pasta

To work you will need beautiful colored seeds and croups of natural color or figured pasta, previously painted in different colors using watercolor or acrylic. In addition, colorless glue, dense cardboard for the substrate, a small mirror, a frame with glass. At the center of the cardboard base we glue the mirror, from it in different directions we draw a geometric ornament in the form of large triangles and squares. Each of the elements of the ornament is greased with glue and densely sprinkled with croup and seeds of different colors, selecting them according to color and thickness. All unnecessary that is not stuck, carefully poured. Then the finished panel is framed in a frame under the glass and hung on the wall. The same can be done using colored figures from pasta. You can create a composition that is composed of several scene images or plant elements. Cuttings from magazines, decoupage cards or napkins stick to a pre-prepared wooden base. It should be primed and painted with acrylic. If you want to make a picture with your own hands with the effect of aging, then the foundation must also be artificially aged. For this, the corners and sides of the board are wiped with a wax candle before staining, and after painting, the paint, which does not lie on the waxed surface, is carefully peeled off with a thin skin. After preparing the basis for it, using glue for decoupage, paste the cuttings, allow them to dry out, and top them with a layer of water-based varnish or, to give the effect of antiquity, a varnish varnish.

Wall panels can be made with their own hands in the form of a stylized window with illumination and built-in 3D stained glass.
