How to lay a laminate on a wooden floor: we prepare for packing

Until now, in many houses of our compatriots you can see the wooden floor. Needless to say, often its appearance is far from ideal. To remedy the situation, people use a variety of floor coverings, which can significantly improve the interior of the house. A very common solution is laminate, and therefore today we will talk about how to lay laminate on a wooden floor.

Before you stack it, you need to remember that the material must be left for some time in the room where it is supposed to be used. This is done to ensure that it adapts to the characteristics of the humidity in the room and does not jar afterwards. This is especially important if you are going to lay a laminate on a wooden floor. The fact that the tree - the material is pretty cranky.

In the room, the laminate is left sealed for a period of about 48 hours. According to experts, it is best placed in the middle of the room. The room where the laminate "stand" should have a temperature of at least 18 degrees, and humidity not more than 75%.

Important! Before laying a laminate on a wooden floor, be sure to take care of the alignment of the latter. Some "extreme-minded" citizens believe that before laying such a delicate floor covering, old floors are generally better replaced with new ones. Specialists also say that such drastic measures are useless, as the old boards are just enough to level and handle the plane. Be sure to tighten the old boards with screws, as otherwise you can not avoid their whipping and creaking.

Thinking about how to lay a laminate on a wooden floor, do not forget about buying plywood with a thickness of approximately 5-7 mm. It is laid on old boards, and already on it lay the lining and the laminate itself. Note! Between the sheets of plywood, be sure to leave a gap of 2-3 mm, as the wood of the floors beneath them is used to "play".

Note that in rooms with high humidity lay laminate is not recommended. Especially it concerns the bathrooms. It is worth noting that some manufacturers produce products with an additional protective plastic layer: such a laminate can be laid in wet conditions, as well as on warm floors, but you should always consult with representatives of the trade mark.

Before laying a laminate on a wooden floor, carefully inspect the purchased material. If the plate has defects, it is immediately rejected. If the packaging in which the laminate was supplied was torn, there is a high risk of the plates swelling from moisture.

It should not be mentioned that the substrate should be perfectly clean, smooth and dry. It is not allowed to have cracks on it. On the carpet flooring installation of laminate is strictly prohibited. It is possible to lay a laminate on a linoleum or a parquet, but only in that case when they are strongly fixed.

If you want to reduce the noise of the coating, use special substrates or just certain grades of laminate. The substrate is fixed with a paint tape.

Laminate it is better to stack so that the light fell along the seam: so the joints are least noticeable. Without fail leave a gap between the wall and the material, the width of which must be at least eight millimeters! As we have already said, this is due to the capriciousness of the wooden floors, which can behave unpredictably. Have you read it? Then we lay the laminate on the wooden floor!
