Advantan cream

Methylprednisolone aceponate is a strong synthetic glucocorticoid agent, the systemic use of which allows you to achieve antiallergic, anti-inflammatory, desensitizing, antitoxic, anti-shock and immunosuppressive reactions. Included as an active substance (with a content of 1 mg in 1 g of the drug) in the "Advantan" cream. Auxiliary substances in the drug are butylhydroxytoluene, glycerol monostearate, decyloleate, cetostearyl alcohol, softizan 378, solid fat, polyoxyl-40-stearate, disodium edetate, glycerol 85%, benzyl alcohol, purified water.

The Italian firm INTENDIS MANUFACTURING produces a cream in aluminum tubes with a volume of 15 ml. In addition to the cream, the manufacturer of this drug produces, with the same concentration (0.1%) of the active substance, ointments and emulsion for external use, which differ from the cream by the composition of the auxiliary substances and the capacity of aluminum tubes.

Before using Advantanum (as it is a corticosteroid drug), read the instructions and consult a doctor. If the drug was prescribed and helped by one patient, this does not mean that he also effectively cope with the problems of another patient and will not harm him. "Advantan" cream has an anti-inflammatory effect and is used externally. It suppresses skin reactions of inflammatory and allergic nature, thereby reducing symptoms such as redness (erythema), thickening of the skin, roughness of the skin surface, fluid accumulation (edema), itching and other problems caused by a burning sensation or pain. "Advantan" is used to treat atopic dermatitis (endogenous eczema, neurodermatitis), eczema in children, contact or degenerative eczema, disgidrotic or vulgar eczema.

"Advantan" cream has a number of contraindications. These include hypersensitivity to the drug and its components, tuberculosis and syphilis of the skin (in the area to be treated), chicken pox, skin post-vaccination reactions, perioral dermatitis or rosacea, skin diseases caused by a viral infection, and the child's age to 4 months. Do not use the cream if the patient has any of the above contraindications.

The patient must necessarily inform the doctor about the known hypersensitivity to the ingredients (for example, methylprednisolone aceponate) or "Advantan" cream. The instruction reports some symptoms of an allergic reaction, which may include shortness of breath, shortness of breath, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or other parts of the body, and the appearance of rashes, itching on the skin. If any of these symptoms appear for the first time when using a cream, you should immediately stop using it and consult a doctor.

Side effects that can occur when using the drug "Advantan" cream are manifested in the form of allergic reactions: itching, burning, vesicle rash, skin hyperemia. Rarely (due to prolonged use of the cream) skin atrophy, acne, telangiectasia, skin thinning and striation, hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth), folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicle), systemic (resorptive) effects, perioral dermatitis can occur . If any side effects are observed that are not mentioned in the drug instructions, or if the initial symptoms of a skin disease reappear, the doctor should be informed about this.

Caution should be applied cream "Advantan". The instruction contains special instructions on this matter. Do not let the cream into your eyes. During the period of use of this drug, physiotherapeutic procedures should be excluded. During pregnancy, the drug is prescribed with extreme caution, in this case, try not to apply it to large areas of the skin. In bacterial dermatoses or dermatomycosis, antibacterial or antifungal treatment is additionally carried out. Cream is used in the presence of a wetting stage of eczema or in acute inflammatory processes.
