How to improve relationships with your cat

Everyone who has ever had a cat knows that they are emotionally fragile beings. They respond to the masters with love when they feel comfortable with them. And although some cats can simply live their lives without much action on the part of the host, most of them just wait for you to show that they are part of your life.

In other words, in order to receive love, you need to give it in return. Some cats are by nature less affectionate than others, but any of the owners can improve their relationship with their pet by following a few simple tips.

Be available

Many of us are very busy, and this may even be the reason why people choose cats as a companion. It's not a secret that they are relatively independent animals. But, despite this, the active rhythm of life and the general unfriendly attitude or atmosphere do not give the cat a sense of comfort. This often leads to the fact that they not only make fun of, but also avoid you.

The best way to change this situation is to be available. If, for example, your cat likes to rest on a certain pillow, put it on your lap. This way you will help the animal to connect you with its comfortable place.

Always be calm and focused on reducing sudden movements or agitated reactions, spending time alone with your pet.

Play, play, play ...

Remember that cats are predators, and they like to do nothing more than to hone their predatory skills through modeled situations "predator-prey". While we call this "game", for them it is playing out their basic instincts, and they will definitely appreciate your help. Believe it or not, cats are usually well aware of the fact that you are holding a string to which the "mouse" is tied on the floor, or you control the laser. They connect this activity with you, appreciating attention and wanting it more. Most cats have a favorite toy, so you can play at any time, taking it and hiding it behind your back. The pet will probably notice this and will want to join the game.

Pay attention to what they tell you

Take into account their meowing when their bowl is empty - this is one thing, but cats are also masters of body language. They will say everything you need to know about how they feel, with the help of simple movements of the tail or torso. If cats roll on the floor and look at the owner with a friendly-sounding vocalization, there is a good chance that they are friendly. A pet turned to your side is usually a sign that he feels comfortable.

True, the most important indicator is always the tail. Reading this cat tongue at first may seem difficult. But over time it becomes easier to understand the difference between when they are in the mood for your tenderness and games, and when not. And they can be understood. If someone always annoyed you tirelessly, when you are not in the mood, would you like it?

Below are tips on how the tail can determine the mood of a cat.

  • If a pet's tail is upright and does not bend, it most likely means that it is friendly, and can even greet you by rubbing your leg or arm.
  • If the tail bends down and is slightly elevated, the cat is most likely set up aggressively or takes a defensive position.
  • If the tail swings around, as if horrible, the animal is probably irritated or angry and prefers to be left alone.
  • If only the tip of the tail slowly bends back and forth, then this may mean that your pet is curious, he is concerned or interested in something specific.

Never hit your friend

Do you beat your friends when they do not like you? Certainly not. They, probably, without enthusiasm would have apprehended it, like cats. Cats react very badly when they are beaten, and unlike more lenient animals such as dogs, they will often take revenge and / or become infinitely afraid of you.

The fact that they will perceive you as a source of pain is not the best way to improve your relationship. There are other, much better options when it comes to punishing your cat.

If the pet naskodil ...

The first true option is to splash water. Do it when the cat is guilty. So you will let know that she has done something bad.

The second option is loud sounds. Clap your hands or speak a certain word loudly. "No" or "stop," said loudly and aggressively, usually work. The exception can be only the most stubborn animals from the cat family.

The last option is just to create harmless traps in places where you would prefer that your pets do not walk. So you will teach them to connect these places with troubles, and, naturally, they will not want to climb there. There are many light traps that can be arranged to provide the best behavior of cats. And usually this requires minimal inconvenience on your part.

Take advantage of our advice and you will have a real friend. Good luck!
