early years

Carragher Jamie was born in the English town of Bootle on January 28, 1978. The boy from his early childhood dreamed of becoming a professional football player. Already at the age of 7 the guy began to play for the team from his native city in the championship for juniors.

In his youth, Jamie Carragher, along with his father, supported the Everton Club. It was at the academy of this team that the future football player made his first steps. However, here he was lucky enough to linger for only a year, after which the boy received an offer to move to the youth team of Liverpool, where the best conditions for training young players were created.

However, here the player was not able to fully reveal his own talents. Therefore later Jamie was entrusted with the central place in the defensive orders of the youth team, where the guy looked much more effective.

In the 1994/1995 season, Carragher, along with his friend, and in the future one of the stars of English football - Michael Owen, made his debut for the reserve squad of Liverpool. A year later, both guys were on the list of players who managed to win a youth cup for their club. To get the trophy the team was lucky in the final fight against West Ham, where at the time shining such promising talents as Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard.

For the Liverpool team, the young player made his debut in the 1997/1998 season. From the initial fights the guy declared himself as an extremely stable defender. Therefore, the player almost immediately took a place in the main team.

Successful performances for Liverpool continued for Jamie until the start of the 2002/2003 season, when the player received several unpleasant injuries. Damage was so serious that it made the guy forget about football for almost 2 years.

Returned to the field Jamie Carragher only in the 2004/2005 season. Thanks to the excellent interaction of the player on the field with another talented defender - Sami Hyypia, the team formed a practically impenetrable central line of defense. At the end of the season, Carragher was recognized as the most valuable player of Liverpool.

With the appointment of the head coach of the team - the Spanish specialist Rafael Benitez, Jamie's right to place in the central line of the team's defense was no longer questioned. In the next two seasons in the English Premier League, the football player played for Liverpool more than 100 duels in a row. Jamie Carragher has repeatedly shown himself as the leader of the team during the most crucial fights. In particular, in the winning final of the Champions League-2005, as well as another title meeting for the FA Cup in 2006.

The last time Jamie Carragher wore a T-shirt of Liverpool in 2013 during a regular meeting against the team of Queens Park Rangers.
