How to build your own chairs of wood: the features of the process

Many owners are trying to design home furniture with their own hands. You can also build your own stools yourself. For example, to mount chairs for the kitchen with your own hands - it's easy. In this case, you do not need much time, and do not need special knowledge. You only need to draw a drawing of the product, and also to collect the necessary tool. As for the material, the tree is most often used in the work.

What tools and materials are needed to work?

The chairs are made with the help of such equipment:

- electric jigsaw or small-toothed saw;

- sandpaper and chisels;

- plane;

- a hammer with nails, a construction stapler;

As for the materials, oak, beech or pine beams for the legs (crosspieces), as well as edging boards for the seat and backrest, will suit you. Naturally, the wood must be well dried and should not contain any cracks, fractures, knots and other flaws. If you want to construct with your own hands chairs with a soft seat, then you need foam and upholstery fabric. To fix this material, it is desirable to apply glue or stapler with staples.

How to make a design?

In principle, the process is not difficult. First you need to draw a drawing of the future product on paper. In this case, it accurately indicates all dimensions. Then the work is done in a certain sequence:

1. Prepare all the necessary elements for the future product. To this end, you need to cut 4 identical length bars, from which you will construct the legs. Now, in these elements, you need to cut out the grooves for the footpaths, as well as the base of the seat. Use a chisel for this purpose. At the same stage, try to "cultivate" the beams: it is desirable that the faces become softer, and the transitions from the grooves - more smooth. Immediately need to sand the future feet with sandpaper.

2. Next, we construct chairs ourselves in the following way: we manufacture footsteps, transverse (longitudinal) bases. They should be cut out thorns, which without the slightest backlash will fit tightly into the already prepared grooves.

3. Now you can saw out two beams for the backrest, and then attach them to the base of the chair.

4. All the prepared parts should be sanded and varnished. The edges of the beams can be slightly rounded. Now we need to start assembling the structure. In this case, in order to connect the studs to the grooves as tight as possible, you can additionally fix them with screws. Next, you need to build a backrest and a seat from the cutting board.

5. Now you can make the chairs soft. To do this, glue the foam on the necessary places.

The stool in this case is constructed in the same way, only without a backrest.

How to build a folding structure?

To build a folding chair with your own hands is also easy. In this case, you will take much less material than the usual stool. For this you need wood. A shield is used for the backrest and front legs. The element will be movable. The back legs are made of wooden beams. Next on the back you need to nail the thin slats.

As for the seat, it can be constructed from wooden slats, plywood or thick fabric. In order for the product to be fixed in a certain position, special spikes should be cut out on the shield. Metal pins can be used for the seat base.
