Autumn - the time of harvesting of vegetables and fruits, the time of canning. One after another, the shelves in the storerooms and on the mezzanines are filled with jars of any taste. All this wealth should "survive" at least until the spring - the season when fresh gifts of nature will appear. How to sterilize jars in a microwave to kill all harmful microorganisms that can literally blow up any of them?

Usually, for sterilization, boiling in a saucepan, steaming or heating in an oven is used. Less often for these purposes a steamer is used. It turns out that you can sterilize the cans in the microwave too. The main thing is to know how to do it.

Just need to warn that it is only about the glass container. Covers from the process are eliminated immediately, because metal objects can not be placed in a microwave oven that heats objects with microwave radiation . They will have to be processed separately, in a traditional way.

Before you can sterilize jars in a microwave oven, all of them must be thoroughly inspected. Any, even the smallest crack or chip - and the bank will have to be used for other purposes: when heated, it is likely to burst. All packagings should be carefully washed with baking soda, then washed in running water.

In each bank, going to sterilization in the microwave, there should be water - a layer on the bottom about 1 cm. The 800 W apparatus sterilizes this jar in 3 minutes. If the cans are several, the sterilization time is increased to 4 minutes. Most often, 2-3-liter cans are not placed in the microwave. But from this position there is a way out: they are sterilized lying on their side (of course, with water inside).

How to sterilize jars in a microwave and leave them dry? There are two such methods. First: if the banks are already dry. To keep them in this state, a glass with water is additionally placed in the microwave. The sterilization time is up to 2 minutes. Approximately the same amount of time will go to dry the wet cans. For this you need to put them in a microwave oven without wiping them and keep them until they dry completely.

With an empty container, it seems, everything is clear. But the question is: how can I sterilize banks in a microwave oven, if they are already filled with pickles, jams, etc.?

In the first variant, conservation is used, which is already fully prepared for rolling, that is, filled with marinade or syrup. Banks without lids should be evenly placed in the oven, bring the liquid inside them to a boil and hold for two minutes.

For the second option you will need covers, only glass ones. They need to cover cans with prepared foods and a small amount of pouring (about a quarter of the volume). The time of sterilization is 2-3 minutes, then you need to remove the cans and pour them in the remaining fill to the boil beforehand.

After both options, the banks must be quickly rolled up, put on a towel upside down, wait until they cool down, then turn to the normal position and send for storage.

Having learned the details of how to sterilize cans in a microwave oven, you probably already paid attention to the main advantages of this method - it takes very little time. In this case, several cans are processed at once, and the kitchen in the process of harvesting for the winter does not become a pair. And if you observe all precautions - and when working with a microwave oven, and in handling hot objects - then complete the procurement "campaign" before everyone else, and to store up to the spring of yummy can be much more than usual.
