The author of "Pinocchio" - Carlo Collodi

The author of Pinocchio, a fairy tale known all over the world, was born in Italy on November 24, 1826. The boy was called Carlo Lorenzini. Nick Collodi later took the pseudonym when he began to write fairy tales for children (the so-called village where his mother was from). At first they were free translations of fairy tales by another, no less famous storyteller - Charles Perrault. And the author of "Pinocchio" began to compose his main fairy tale in life when he was 55 years old, at a rather mature age!

The Tale of The Adventures of Pinocchio

Write a book for children suggested the storyteller editor of the "Children's Newspaper", which in those years was published in Rome. Fascinated by the idea of describing the adventures of Pinocchio, the author composed the first story from a book in one night! And in print, the first chapter appears on July 7, 1881. Then in each issue of the publication are printed stories from the life of a wooden boy who enjoys a stunning success among young readers.

The author of Pinocchio wanted to complete his work by saying that the protagonist should be hanged, but the reader-children wrote so many letters to the editorial office of the "Children's Newspaper" with requests for continuation that the storyteller had to continue publishing. And in 1883 a separate book was published in Florence, where all the chapters printed earlier in the "Children's Newspaper" were collected. It was published by the publisher Felicio Pagi. And he painted Pinocchio, a wooden man, compatriot of the storyteller Enrico Matzanti, an artist who defined the appearance of the heroes of the fairy tale for many years to come.

A happy ending

The story ends with the fact that Pinocchio (in Italian "cedar nut", from "pino" - pine) from wooden Pinocchio (in Italian "doll-puppet") turns into a man. The author of "Pinocchio" at the request of his readers deliberately changed the end of the work from negative to edifying to positive, and from this the fairy tale greatly benefited. By the beginning of the twentieth century, the book only in Italy withstood about 500 publications, has become popular in other countries. The author of Pinocchio, fairy tales with a happy ending, has long since died, and his beautiful work is still loved by children and adults around the world!

Thanks to Carlo Collodi and a wooden man, the settlement of Collodi became famous: there is a monument to Pinocchio with a thank-you inscription from admiring readers. And the age of these readers is interpreted in the range from four to seventy years!

Pinocchio and Pinocchio

Among the young readers of "Pinocchio" was once Alyosha Tolstoy, in the future a Russian writer-storyteller. Many years passed, and he decided to retell the book Collodi, but in his own way. Thus, the fairy tale Golden Key was born, which we have known since childhood. So another wooden boy was born-Buratino, restless, terribly curious, gay.

The fairy tale "Adventures of Pinocchio" was published in the newspaper "Pionerskaya Pravda" in 1935. And in 1936 - it was published as a separate book in Russia. Since then, the book has withstood many publications and adaptations. It remains popular to this day.

Both stories about wooden boys begin in the same way: from a wonderful talking log the old master once cut out a doll. After that ... But we will not retell the stories, it is better to take books and read independently!
