Hot dishes on the festive table: options for a banquet and a buffet table
Gathered to organize a dinner party or even a friendly party, we carefully select the recipes of the festive table. Hot dishes occupy a key place - both at the banquet and at the buffet table. The only difference is that in the buffet format they should be served in a convenient form for guests - so that you can take them by hand. A banquet means having a seat at the table and the appropriate appliances. Therefore, the dish can even be in the form of a whole carcass - fish or meat. At a cocktail party such dishes are also welcomed and readily eaten by guests. But they must first be cut into portions and served on lettuce leaves or slices of bread.
Rolls of ham with prunes or similarly stuffed whole piece of pork - win-win meals are hot on the festive table. Cooking them is easy. Berries of prunes are steamed in boiling water, we remove bones, and the pulp is cut and mixed with chopped denticles of garlic. You can add a handful of pounded walnuts. A piece of pork is sliced - but not to the end - with slices one and a half centimeters thick. In these blades we spread the filling. Mix mayonnaise with mustard, season with Provencal herbs. We spread all this pork, wrap it tightly in a piece of foil, put in the fridge to marinate for 4 hours (minimum). Then bake in a preheated oven for 200 o C: one and a half hours in foil and 30 minutes without it.
The lightest dishes, called salvation for the hostess, are hot sandwiches on the festive table. Whatever the filling, cheese is mandatory. Simply cut the bread, spread it on request with oil. Top with sandwich components. They can be tuna, pâté, sausage, vegetables. Cover everything with a slice of cheese and put in a microwave or oven for a couple of minutes until a beautiful ruddy cap forms. Hard varieties can be replaced with mozzarella. Bread for hot sandwiches is best to use a toaster or French baguette with an erased crust. Ready canapé can be sprinkled with fresh herbs.
