Grapes Timur: description and fineness of care

Grapes are a culture that develops very actively and rapidly. And this is due to artificial selection, as a result of which already there are more than 1000 different varieties of this useful and beautiful plant. With such a variety, even an experienced winegrower can lose his head.

The purpose of this article is to acquaint with the variety of grapes Timur - its description, planting, care.

Grapes of Timur: description

Despite the unusual name, Timur's grapes were derived by breeding method by Russian scientists. For this, we used such varieties as Delight and Frumoasa Albe. From the "forefathers" this grape variety has received all the best, and has truly deserved a place of the favorite grade among the most inveterate wine growers. Moreover, Timur grapes grow well in many climatic conditions, especially in the form of a cover crop.

In principle, it's no secret that for the consumer the most important part of the grapes is the bunch. The grapes are of a very impressive size, weighing from 400 to 600 g. The berries themselves usually have a conical shape with a small pointed tip or a clearly oval tip, and the structure of berries placement is moderately friable. In addition, each individual berry of this variety has a fairly large size, approximately 3 x 2 cm, and its weight is from 6 to 8 grams.

The color and taste of the grapes Timur

It is widely believed that the grape variety of Timur can only boast of white berries, but this is not so. There is Timur and with pink berries. Yes, and on the described white grapes, you can see a small brownish or amber "tan".

The taste of this grapes can be said for a very long time, since it is really amazing. And this is due to its dense crisp structure. The high level of sugar accumulation and harmonious indices of acidity make the taste uniqueness, and the light aroma of musk adds its subtle notes.

Planting a bush, the productivity of a variety

It is not necessary to plant Timur grapes next to stronger trees or bushes, since the growth force of this variety is average. One way out of this problem is grafting grapes to a stronger bush. This allows Timur to grow bigger and stronger, and most importantly, fructification will be much better. However, there is a minus in this kind of growing grapes - the fruits mature somewhat later than on their own roots, about 105-115 days.

If we talk about yield, Timur refers to high-yielding and fertile varieties. On one shoot alone, 3 bunches can grow. The shoots themselves grow very slowly, which means they continue to bear fruit.

Advantages and disadvantages

Another undoubted advantage is the good rooting of the cuttings. This means that it will be easier for the winegrower to propagate his favorite variety. The fruits of the Timur grapes after planting appear already on the 2-3rd year. In addition, the grapes Timur has flowers of both sexes, and therefore the harvest will always be abundant and stable.

This variety is very resistant to various diseases, especially to gray rot and mildew. Timur is truly persistent, and can tolerate frosts to -25 ° C.

The drawbacks of this variety can be attributed only the weakness of the trunk and its slow growth. And since the bush is small, it means that the shoots will be slightly smaller than we would like.

When planting such a variety, one must remember that it is whimsical in relation to the soil into which it is planted. And also you need to more carefully approach the choice of fertilizing. Otherwise, the fruits can not wait and do. It should not be planted in a heavy ground - of course, there will be fruits, but the taste may not be what it should be. The berries, or rather, their peels will be thick and rough, and will be like a simple herb, knocking down the sweet taste of the pulp.
