Gleb Panfilov: biography, photo, filmography, personal life

Throughout the entire creative career, the outstanding director and screenwriter of Soviet, Russian and world cinema, Gleb Panfilov, with absolute persistence preserves his inner freedom. None of the films (and for their entire life in the national cinema they accumulated a great many) can not be called passing or failed: each of them is an event in the art world. Already for several decades he retains the reputation of an authentic artist.

Childhood, family

December 21, 1934 in the Urals, in the city of Magnitogorsk, in the family of Vera Stepanovna and Anatoly Petrovich Panfilov, a son was born who was called Glebushka. His father worked as a journalist, so it is quite possible that when choosing a profession, Panfilov many years later pushed it from this.

After graduating from the chemical faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute in 1957, he worked at the Sverdlovsk Medications Plant, then at the Research Institute as a research assistant. Gleb Panfilov was even once the head of the propaganda department in the city committee of the Komsomol. And already there his creative nature made itself felt: he contributed to the organization of an amateur film studio.

In tandem with friends Gleb Panfilov, whose biography then made a new round, began to make documentaries. His first successes were noticed and invited to local television.

Well hello, VGIK!

In 1960, Panfilov arrives in the capital for the correspondence department of the camera faculty in VGIK, where he studied until 1963. And then immediately passes the entrance examinations to the directing faculty. He graduated from the Higher Directing courses three years later, in 1966. In parallel with his studies, he has been working on television all this time. In Panfilov there is an unshakable confidence that the path chosen by him is absolutely correct and he will reach, after passing through it, certain heights.

After receiving the diploma of the director Gleb Panfilov comes to work at the Lenfilm studio. A decade later, in 1977, he became a director at Mosfilm and, at the same time, directed the studio at the Higher Directing Courses.

His film debut

His first film in the feature film was "There is no fire in the fire," for which Panfilov was awarded the prize of the International Film Festival in Locarno (Switzerland) two years after filming, in 1969. In this picture, he portrayed the Civil War - with its ideological disputes among the Bolsheviks, with a very tough and realistic vision of confrontation with his underside, through the prism of ordinary everyday life of a medical train.

But the main discovery of the painting (as well as the main meeting in the life of the venerable director) is the find of the main character - the artist and, in combination, the nurse Tatiana Tetkina. In Tanya, played by Inna Churikova, the character is unusually interesting, it is original and talented, sacrificial almost to foolishness. The manner of the embodiment of Churikova's character is sharply grotesque, and deeply dramatic at the same time.

How to find Baba Yaga?

At first, the work on the film did not come off, because the director could not find an actress for the main female role. Closer and nearer became the day when the shooting process should begin, and the heroine did not exist. And then one day, after glancing at the TV and seeing the Baba Yaga on the screen, Panfilov understood: this is it! For the first time in his life, an adult and serious man, watching the play of a young actress, felt sorry for the fairy-tale wicked witch. He immediately began to look for her. This actress was his future wife, Inna Churikova, and Yagi Gleb Anatolyevich reflected the search history in the film "The Beginning".

Khudsovet "Lenkom" was categorically against this nominee. But Panfilov defended his point of view and persuaded all to change the decision.

A little later Gleb Panfilov and Inna Churikova created a family in which their only son Ivan was born. Inna Mikhaylovna for many years working in the cinematography played the main roles in most of her husband's paintings.

"Beginning" and others

It is impossible to ignore the film, which became the classics of Soviet cinema - "The Beginning". This picture received the "Silver Lion" at the International Film Festival in Venice. It refers to the usual Soviet weaver Pasha, who is quite unattractive in appearance and can not arrange his personal life in any way. And suddenly she was invited to the role of Joan of Arc herself. Now throughout the filming of the fate of a simple Soviet girl and the great French heroine are woven into a single whole.

Another interesting film, which was shot by Gleb Panfilov, is "Theme". But due to the fact that the issue of emigration was mentioned in this film, it did not go on sale for several years. At the head of the corner of this film is a very sarcastic and full sarcasm of the image of a successful capital playwright who everywhere tries to show its importance and significance. But all this is "pshikom" in comparison with integrity, decency and cleanliness of life in the province.

It is impossible not to stop at one more milestone in the work of the great director. Gleb Panfilov, whose photo can be seen on the pages of various glossy publications, in 1983, shot the film "Vassa", based on Maxim Gorky's play "Vassa Zheleznova." He somehow, especially in his own way, read this textbook. In the main character, he considered not just a rude despotic egoist, but also a thin intelligent woman, an active hostess, a loving mother. Through the echoes of Vassy's personal tragedy, one can see the future tragedy of Russia, which is already doomed to revolution. Gleb Panfilov, filmography Which has dozens of amazing works, always attached great importance to graphic textures. Therefore, and "Vassa" he has withstood in the style of Russian Art Nouveau.

A year later Gleb Anatolyevich staged the play "Hamlet" on the stage of "Lenkom". In his presentation, the main character, played by the great Jankowski, was treated as a man of the crowd. In 2000, another of his films appeared on the screens of the country - "Romanovs: the crowned family". In it, he told so truthfully and accurately about the last months of the life of the Russian imperial family that it seemed that he lived at that time and knew each of the characters personally.

The Tsar, the Tsarina and Ivan Tsarevich

That's it, the director Gleb Panfilov. Personal life of famous people is always interesting to viewers. And many popular personalities willingly talk about their private lives. But Gleb Anatolievich does not like to let journalists into the secret of his soul.

It is known that from his first marriage he has a son Anatoly, who was born in 1957. In the alliance with Inna Churikova, in 1978 his second son, Ivan, was born.

Now the parents regret that they did not give the son the opportunity to make a voluntary choice of a profession, because they really did not want their heir to follow in their footsteps. Although it was obvious that Ivan has an artistic gift.

Parents decided that their son should be a diplomat. Therefore, Vanya graduated from MGIMO (he studied at the Faculty of International Law). Now he knows several foreign languages, only now he did not become happier.

At first, parents thought that he was tormented by his unsettled personal life, and then realized what was the reason. His acting talent remained unrealized. However, Ivan is still young and, of course, everything is ahead of him. Now Panfilov and Churikova expect that in the near future the son will withdraw his film (in London he graduated from film school).
