More on the chapters of the poem

The introduction and the first chapter narrate the motives for the writer's journey. Reasonings from the window of the car about the distances and anticipation of the events ahead are bordered by the cheerful disposition of the author. Saying goodbye to Moscow, the lyrical hero joyfully expects something from this trip. The chapter "On the Road" shows the author's mood and the desire for new sensations in the unexplored parts of the homeland. Every new fellow traveler and image behind the window is pleased with Alexander Tvardovsky. "For a long distance" according to the chapters describes the order of trips to different parts of the country.

Next, the writer describes the vast Volga, calling it "Seven Thousand Rivers". He writes about the Volga as an omnipresent river, to which "half the Russia looked." All with unconcealed delight view the river, forgetting even what they were doing. Calling her mother, the poet wants to convey the majesty and beauty of the Volga. Truly it passes along a large part of the Russian land and fills many lakes.

The chapter "Two smithies" reflects the author's memories of his youth in Zagorje, where he grew up in his father's forge, and his arrival in the Urals. Two smithies as a reflection of the father-earner in the family and the Ural-getter, the blacksmith of the whole power. In the poem, the writer calls the Ural Father, which also speaks of his motives to glorify and honor the Russian terrain.

Comparison of the "two gaps"

In the section "Two Dawls" the author says goodbye to the Urals and welcomes Siberia, describing her landscapes and everything that gets in his field of vision. Imagining one and watching the second distance, at the same time comes to delight and sad. The poet also put into this chapter a deeper meaning, the past and the present of the country: the sorrows of war, the tragic losses and joy of new buildings, boiling labor, the restoration of power. But memory is full of grief, which Tvardovsky wrote about emotionally enough.

A friend of youth as an echo of the past

Tvardovsky's poem "For the distance - the distance" is filled with colorful and sensual reflections. In each chapter, the author conducts a dialogue with the reader, which adds vividness to the text. In "Literary conversation" he talks about his fellow travelers, who are already on their third day: there is a major, a young couple, and a lady in pajamas. Without losing sight of the external features of each of them, he adds his own speculations and assumptions about their further actions. Also there is a dialogue with the reader.

During the trip Alexander Trifonovich meets his old friend, with whom he has a conversation. They remember childhood, how they grazed cattle together, fires in the forest, school and the Komsomol burned. Comrades of youth, not seeing each other for 17 years, have five minutes to talk at Taishet station. With frantic sadness my friends leave. This meeting leaves a note of sadness on the soul of the author.

Fragments of memories of the war

The whole trip lasts ten days, but it includes a century of the history of the people and a large-scale description of the territory of Russia. Here, the cold mighty Urals, and Siberia - the "factory and barn of power," and the Far East. Historical military moments are described in the chapter "Front and Rear". Playing with thoughts and images, the poem "For the distance is far" (Tvardovsky), the summary of which is quite voluminous, because the work itself has a deep meaning and a long period of writing, combining the past and present life of the people.

He reacted to this work as the last, he put himself into writing Tvardovsky's poem "For Distant-Dale". Brief content, even a small fraction of all the charms and subtleties of the work does not contain in itself. After reading at least one passage, the reader will be transferred to deep thoughts and memories of the author. In the last chapters on the journey back to Moscow, the writer on the sheet honors fate for such a decisive step in his life.

The deep meaning of the notion of distances in a work

An analysis of Tvardovsky's poem "For the distance" is a story about the incredible skill of describing forests and valleys, rivers and lakes of the great homeland, about the life and memories of the author, about fragments of the war taken from the memory of the poet. But the more important essence of the age-old work is the juxtaposition of the times, sorrows and joys of the inhabitants of the epoch and the awareness of the coming new century. The author as though through all life has carried memoirs, has harmoniously placed them in lyrically-epic poem "For a distance - the distance", has added scales and beauty of the power. That's how the masterpiece of Russian poetry of the last century turned out.
