Danger of free liquid in the pelvis

During the ultrasound examination, a doctor can detect free fluid in the small pelvis. Finding watery formations in the small pelvis is not always considered the norm, so the doctor performs the examination before prescribing the treatment.

Free liquid in the small pelvis can accumulate for various reasons.

What is considered the norm? Finding fluid in the anterior space after ovulation. The fact is that during ovulation the dominant follicle breaks, and the fluid released from it falls into the abdominal cavity. After some time, the liquid must dissolve.

What is not the norm? Formed free fluid in the small pelvis with endometriosis. The fact is that endometrial cells can grow in any area of the pelvis, and during menstruation in these areas there are spotting. Inflammation of the pelvic organs may be a liquid.

When performing ultrasound, the formation of fluid in the small pelvis can be detected in endometriosis (cysts), ovarian rupture, salpingitis (with tearing of the ovary or cysts, bleeding occurs in the small pelvis).

Another cause of fluid accumulation in the small pelvis is ascites. Ascites are the accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity. This disease is often a consequence of cardiac or renal insufficiency, peritonitis, malignant tumors, as well as liver diseases.

Free fluid in the small pelvis is one of the signs of an ectopic pregnancy. This fluid indicates the rupture of the fallopian tube. In this case, the bleeding pipe will bleed the blood.

During an ultrasound, stagnation in the pelvis can be detected. This phenomenon can be a consequence of the adhesive process. Spikes, which are formed with various injuries, namely operations, abortions, and various inflammatory processes of the pelvis, can complicate the circulation of organs, thereby causing stagnant phenomena.

One of the signs of stagnant phenomena is pain during intercourse or after it - dyspareunia.

Stagnation of blood in the small pelvis occurs due to impaired renal function, as well as in the presence of inflammatory processes.

Chronic inflammatory diseases, disorders in the activity of the hormonal system and other unfavorable conditions can lead to the formation in the tissues of the uterus of the nodes called in medicine "myoma of the uterus." Often this disease is accompanied by stagnant phenomena.

Signs of fibroids are: a feeling of cold in the lower abdomen, profuse bleeding, low hemoglobin. During menstruation, there are severe pains, heavy discharge with clots and mucus, and an unpleasant odor. In rare cases, the urinary function may be impaired.

Whichever of the above signs are not found, do not panic. It is necessary to immediately consult a qualified doctor who will make a timely appointment.

After the detection of pathologies, the doctor will prescribe a treatment that will increase the chance of a complete cure.
