CSKA Stadium in the past and in the future

CSKA was founded in 1923, it was then called "The First Sports Organization of the Red Army" Experimental and demonstrative military sports platform Vsevobucha. " The main areas of training were important for the army sports: shooting, skiing, light and heavy athletics, boxing, football, basketball and gymnastics. In 1953, on the basis of this organization, the Central Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense was established, and in 1960 it was renamed the Central Army Sports Club (CSKA).

History of CSKA Stadium

The first CSKA stadium was opened in Moscow in 1961 as part of the Universal Sports Base "Peschanoe" and was named after Grigory Fedotov, a famous football player who scored 100 goals in the USSR Championship. The stadium was small, its arena accommodated 11 thousand spectators. In addition, there were no lighting masts on the football field and therefore games could be held only in the daytime. CSKA Stadium was in close proximity to the then operating airfield on the Khodynka Field. Masts of lighting in the stadium could become a hindrance for the take-off and landing aircraft, so the stadium was built without top lighting. Because of this, matches at the CSKA Stadium were seldom, in the main the arena was used by a duplicating team. For spectators the stadium was also not very comfortable - instead of seats there were wooden benches. In 1997, the stadium was reconstructed, after which its capacity increased, instead of seats for spectators, plastic seats were installed. But still the matches of the commands of the highest league were held on it extremely rarely. In the 2000th year the stadium of CSKA was closed and demolished.

Construction of a new complex

Currently, the construction of a new stadium CSKA. Initially, it was planned to put it into operation in 2008, then the date was postponed several times because of disputes over the documentation. The deadline for the construction of the new stadium CSKA is 2013. It should be a state-of-the-art sports complex. The shape is rectangular, unlike all other sports arenas, it will be deprived of "dead zones" for spectators. In the corner buildings it is planned to place offices, studios and cafes. One corner tower should rise above the roof of the stadium, and in form will repeat the UEFA Cup, won by CSKA players in 2005, with a giant soccer ball at the top.

From the offices that will work in the tower, there will be magnificent panoramic views of Moscow and the stadium of CSKA. Moscow needs modern sports facilities that meet the latest requirements of FIFA. It is especially important at the same time to preserve the history of sports facilities that have been operating in the city for many years, such as CSKA Stadium, Dynamo, Lokomotiv. The main difficulty in the reconstruction of these sports grounds is that adjacent to them are residential areas.

Designers on a relatively small plot of land should place a complex of offices, hotels, think about access roads and the location of the car park. The new stadium of CSKA will, according to experts, a unique architectural structure and the most modern sports arena.
