The football field has special markings and certain sizes

Everyone knows that the field for playing soccer in a rectangular shape, but it is unlikely that many will say exactly what size it should be. And if you specially look during the broadcast matches from different sports arenas, you can see that the field is something of different sizes. Yes, and the coating on them is different, sometimes even artificial.

What kind of football field should it really be? This is clearly stipulated in the regulatory documents of the main international organizations of this sport - FIFA and UEFA. It can be both natural and with artificial grass. Currently, these lawns in their properties almost do not differ from each other.

The dimensions of the field in length can be in the range from 90 to 120, and in width - from 45 to 90 meters. However, in order to hold international matches, only those with a length of 100 to 110 and widths from 64 to 75 m will do. In general, FIFA seeks to make all football fields the same: 105 meters long and 68 wide. But in any case, the main rule must be observed, which says: the side line must be longer than the goal line.

And the football field should be correctly oriented along the horizon. It is recommended to build stadiums in such a way that their longitudinal axis is directed to the north. This is necessary to reduce the influence of the sun on the game. It should be noted that in Europe international matches are held only in such fields.

The marking of the football field is carried out with the help of lines no more than 12 cm wide. Long were called lateral, and short ones are the goal lines. Exactly in the middle of the field is divided by another feature. This is the so-called middle line, on which the center of the field is designated. A circle with a radius of 9.15 m is drawn around this point.

On each of the halves of the field the gate areas and penalty areas are marked. They are symmetrical about the center line of the field. The area of the gate ends at around 5.5, and the penalty area - at 16.5 m.

In each penalty area, exactly in the center of the goal line, an 11-meter mark is marked, with which the players punched a penalty. From it, outside the penalty area, an arc with a radius of 9.15 m is marked. It helps the referee to ensure that during the penalty (except for the punching) the players do not approach the ball closer to that mark.

The football field in the four corners has special flagpoles, the height of which should reach 1.5 m. According to the safety rules, they do not have tops of the point and are made of flexible materials. In each corner the corner sector is marked - the fourth part of the circle, whose radius is 1 m. Sometimes the flagpoles are set at 1 meter from the intersection of the middle line with the lateral ones.

Each football field has a gate installed in the center of a special line. This is a very simple design of two vertical racks connected by a horizontal crossbar. The height of the racks should be 2.44 m, and the distance between them is 7.32 m. A net is attached to the gate outside the field. The crossbeams of the gates and posts are painted white.

Outside the field there is also a specially marked place - the technical zone. In it are located during the match coaches and reserve players.
