Cows of Simmental breed - originally from Switzerland

Simmental breed of cows, whose photo clearly indicates the thoroughbredness of these animals, was created in Switzerland. It is, perhaps, one of the oldest in the world. There is an assumption that Simmental breed cows originate from animals obtained from crossing wild tours with peat cattle. In the past, they were called Bernian. From Switzerland, these animals were gradually exported to different countries.

To date, Simmental cows are bred for two purposes: meat and milk and meat. In Russia, the second direction is most common.

The main color of this livestock is pale-motley or fawn, less often red-mottled. The purebred Simmental cow has a pink tongue and a nasal mirror, as well as a pharynx and eyelids. Usually individuals in the height of the withers reach one hundred and forty centimeters. Cows of Simmental breed have a strong backbone and a proportional build. They have a large head with a broad frontal part. The neck is usually medium in length. The chest is deep and wide, and the bulls have a very developed dewlap. The back and the posterior body of the Simmental cow are wide, the sacrum sometimes elevated. The extremities are correctly set. The udder has a rounded shape with a large margin, the nipples have a conical or cylindrical shape.

Experts have called the deficiencies in the Simmental cow's cousin the wrong arrangement of its hind limbs, the back of the neck, and the weak development of the anterior lobes.

With the help of this livestock there are several varieties, such as the Hungarian motley, the red garden, the Bulgarian red, and the Slovak red-motley.

Dairy productivity in Simmental breed cows varies depending on the breeding site. The most productive this cattle is in the central black earth regions, where the milk yield of individuals listed in the pedigree book gives five and a half thousand kilograms for lactation.

The record-breaking breed is Ryabushka-1413, which for its fourth milk deduction has given 1,454 kilograms with a fat content of 3.82 percent.

Cows of Simmental breed, belonging to such highly productive related groups, having a large butterfat as the lines of the Lord, Mergel, Facade, Zipper, Toreador, were widely spread.

Currently, the largest breeding herds are concentrated on the Voronezh breeding plant and in Ukraine in the Chernigov region, as well as in the Kiev.

The hotel of the Simmental cow cowl runs relatively easily. Calves, whose live weight reaches birth to forty-five kilograms at the time of birth, can be successfully grown at different levels of feeding, and by the year they weigh three centners with a fat thickness of up to six millimeters.

The costs of growing Simmental bull calves for meat up to a year and a half last up to a maximum of eight and a half fodder units.

Those who grew these animals know how they are obedient and understandable. Other characteristics of simmentalok are their mobility, good development of muscle tissue, as well as resistance to disease.
