Coupling fittings: description, types, installation principles

In connection with the intensive development of monolithic frame construction of high-rise buildings, hydroelectric stations, bridges, nuclear power plants, the problem of joining reinforcing bars in the process of performing construction work has become acute. Multi-storey buildings and complex reinforced concrete structures, especially located in zones with high seismic hazard, are currently being built from monolithic reinforced concrete, which requires correct and high-quality execution of the mating of the reinforcement. It is the reinforcement of ordinary concrete that provides structural strength to reinforced concrete structures.

More recently, the armature docked with the help of welding or knitting wire overlap. Today, on the territory of our country, to connect the armature bars the main inexpensive and proven method is the coupling on the couplings. The application of the coupling system consists in replacing the fragmentary joints of the pin tying by the coupling couplings of the reinforcement. Application

A strong metal skeleton of a building made of concrete is necessary for a stable structural resistance to bending loads. Applied everywhere methods of binding reinforcement wire or by welding are laborious, complex, ineffective and are not expensive.

Coupling of the armature with a coupling is a stronger fixation of the two ends of the rods in a hollow metal cylinder in a certain way. Kinds

Couplings connecting the reinforcement are classified according to different characteristics.

  • Couplings with a tapered female thread allow connecting reinforcement bars with a diameter of 12 to 50 mm.
  • If necessary, fix the already installed in the construction of the valve using crimp (threadless) connections. They fix the rods through the action of special friction linings inside the integral pipe element.
  • The screw-like pins are fixed with two locking nuts. Such a compact connection is used when connecting pins that carry a high load.

  1. On the reinforcing bars at the place of docking, crimp elements are installed.
  2. The coupling is pressed by a hydraulic device.
  3. Visually, the build quality is checked.
  4. Comprehensive verification of the entire assembled structure.

If special clamping devices are used for mechanized docking, it is guaranteed to fix the joints of the coupling for a long time.

Docking couplings are made of pipes with a small diameter corresponding to the dimensions of the reinforcing bars. To twist the key, the top surface is hexagonal. Inside is cut an inch thread with a minimum pitch. Using pipes with thick walls allows you to cut the coils of the required depth and ensure the strength of the connection. Experts consider the coupling armature to be an ideal solution for splicing overlapping pins.

  • Couplings of appropriate sizes are purchased and equipment is prepared.
  • Threads are cut at the ends of the bars.
  • The valve is in the working position.
  • The coupling is wound from one end.

In order to prevent problems with the state of the frame in the future, tightening the reinforcement units is necessary with qualitative and special keys.

The armature, connected by the coupling method, forms a very strong connection. For such an assembly, there is no need to hire expensive specialists. It is enough simply to connect the prepared ends of the pins and secure them with the appropriate metal cylinders.

Coupling pipe fittings

Today, the building materials market offers a wide range of pipe fittings from different materials: time-tested, durable and durable cast iron, less resistant to mechanical damage to steel and brass. Less popular is the pipeline fittings made of aluminum, nickel and titanium alloys. Lightness, plasticity, low price differs polymeric reinforcement. Boasting resistance to any chemicals can be taps and valves made of porcelain, ceramic and glass.

When choosing the locking elements of the pipe couplings for the pipeline, it is recommended to be guided by the material of the pipe making. With a similar material, many indicators coincide:

Coupling armature with manual drive

Manual drive is usually referred to as a flywheel or handle mounted on the spindle of the gate valve, on the spindle of the valve, on the platen of the drive head or on the roller of the built-in electric drive.

The valve is moved manually by the actuator. Such systems are installed in convenient locations.

More often, remote manual drives are used to control the valve with any diameter installed in inaccessible places.
