Ch. Aitmatov, Burannyi polustanok: a brief summary

Chingiz Aitmatov - one of the most famous and popular writers of the Soviet era. Kirgiz by origin, he paid much attention to the lives of his people. Aitmatov was recognized in the Soviet Union. He is a laureate of numerous awards, Hero of Socialist Labor. Virtually all of the writer's works were published in two languages: Russian and Kyrgyz.

Steppe and railway

One of Aitmatov's best novels is Burannyi Polustanik. For him, the writer received the State Prize of the USSR. "Burannyj polustanok", the brief content of which is often retold in different sources, is a novel with a philosophical orientation. The work begins with a description of the scene. This is a boundless steppe with scant vegetation - almost desert. In the novel it is called Sary-Ozeki. The prototype of this area is the territory surrounding the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Near the huge take-off field is the railway.

"Burannyi polustanok", the brief content of which we will outline in the article, is easy to read. What can not be said about the most complex semantic books. At the beginning of the novel, the author contrasts nature (the behavior of a fox) and soulless civilization associated with the railway. Continuously rushing trains leave rumblings and rubbish in the steppe, frighten animals. However, it is civilization that gives local people material wealth. It is not by chance that the fox, overcoming fear, returns to the railway line to find scraps.

Main characters

After describing the arena of future events, the writer introduces us to the heroes of the novel Burannyi polustanovik. The summary of the following pages is related to the image of Yedigei. He works as a crawler of tracks on the Burannoy Station for many years. He is 61 years old. His work began immediately after the war. Yedigei lives in a settlement of eight houses, among which there are mud houses. His wife Ukubala is as old as he is. Yedigei is a man of a solid character, because only strong people survive in the Sarozek.

In the novel "Burannyi polustanok", the brief content of which you read, there are few characters. Yedigei is a real hard worker. He always worked only on conscience. When snowstorms and blizzards swept the railway tracks, he and his friend Kazangap shovel cleared tens of meters of snow drifts. Young trackers laughed at such heroism, called the old fools. At the beginning of the book Kazangap dies.

Contrast nature and civilization

The author Aitmatov added an interesting touch to his novel. "Burannyj polustanok", the brief content of which is connected with the unity of man and nature, has a camel on the list of actors. Karanar is a model animal. The writer clearly admires him and describes with knowledge. By education Aytmatov was a livestock specialist.

At the funeral of Kazangap his son Sabitzhan appears. He is the embodiment of a new century of technological progress - a time when people forgot about God, forgot how to pray and lost their soul. Sabitzhan only wants one thing: to bury his father more quickly and go to the city. He tries to impress his fellow villagers with his knowledge, but people only feel dislike - as Chingiz Aitmatov writes. "Burannyj polustanok", the brief content of which includes another thematic line, follows the plot further.

Future and past

This is a fantastic motif related to the cosmos. The first contact of Earthlings with another civilization! No one expected such a move from the Soviet writer Aitmatov. Two astronauts (Soviet and American) on the orbital station "Paritet" went to the unknown with the aliens. This is a fantastic story line in the novel "Burannyi polustanik." The summary (it is not necessary to break it into chapters by chapters, because the narrative represents a single canvas) tells about the following events.

While Yedigei is lucky to bury his deceased friend, before his inner gaze passes all his life on Burannyi polustank. He remembered the first meeting with Kazangap, who persuaded the contused patient to go to the Sarozek. And when the family of the Kuttybayevs arrived at the stop, Yedigei felt all the injustice of the Stalinist-Beria regime. The head of the Abutalip family is arrested.

The struggle for truth

Yedigei does not know what Kuttybaev is accused of. His arrest is connected with memories of the war, which he writes down for his children. Abutalip was in captivity, after escaping sided with Yugoslav guerrillas. Until the end of the war, he was abroad. During the interrogation, Yedigei tries to find out whether Kuttybaev mentioned English names - this is described in the work "Burannyi polustanovik". A novel, the brief content of which is worth knowing to every connoisseur of literature, deeply worries the readers.

Suicide of Abutalip, Yedigei's love for his wife Zaripa - all this took place before the inner gaze of the old Kazakh, while he was driving his friend to the cemetery.

The "Khrushchev thaw" began. Yedigei went to Alma-Ata to tell the truth about the arrest of Kuttybayev. Abutalip is rehabilitated. A new life begins in the country.

In the novel, the author retells two ancient oriental legends about the events that took place in the Sarozek steppe. The first legend narrates about Genghis Khan, who executed lovers here because they dared to have a child despite his order. The second legend tells of an old poet who fell in love with a young girl. Relatives tied him to a tree to prevent him from reuniting with her. So in Aitmatov's novel the past, the present and the future are intertwined.
