Ginger candied fruits - what is it?

In cold weather, you can warm yourself not only with mulled wine and hot tea. How many of you know the warming properties of the root of ginger? Essential oils that are contained in it, give it a sharp and burning taste, which successfully complements not only meat dishes and sushi, but also sweets. Ginger powder is added to the tea, the grated root is put into the dough for cupcakes and pies. You can also make candied fruit from it. What it is? Candied pieces of ginger root, cooked in syrup. They retain some of their sharpness, which becomes quite bearable, and acquire some sweetness. Also the candied root ginger is very healthy (almost as fresh). It has anti-inflammatory and anti-catarrhal properties, helping the body fight infection.

For candied fruits you need an equal amount of sugar and ginger, as well as water. The root must be cleaned and cut into strips or slices. Pour water and put the cook for thirty minutes. After the ginger is cooked, sugar should be added. Continue to cook the slices until all the water is clear and boiling. While the ginger is in the syrup, it can be flavored, for example with cardamom, vanilla, cinnamon, buckwheat or cloves. When the liquid is boiled off, add the sugar and stir in a saucepan. Put on a baking sheet, dry. Store in a closed glass jar. Add to the ice cream, sweet desserts to harmonize the taste, into pastries (cupcakes, muffins), tea or coffee. After a while, the berries will give off the juice. Put them on a baking tray in one layer. Fill with juice and sprinkle with sugar - it will need another glass. Place the pan in the oven (the temperature should be about two hundred degrees Celsius). Strawberry mass boils after a while. Reduce the temperature by twenty degrees and hold for half an hour. Then take out the baking sheet, roll each berry in the sugar (until they have cooled down) and spread out for drying on foil.
