Bent channel: application features

The bent channel is a metal product similar to its section on the letter "P". This material consists of a wall and two shelves, which are located on one side. Usually the curved equal-channel channel is produced in lengths from two to twelve meters, while the wall thickness varies from 2.5 to 8 millimeters.

A feature of the product is its low specific weight and, at the same time, high strength. The metal structures made of this rolled metal are light, and they are capable of withstanding significant loads.

From the hot-rolled bent channel is distinguished by the accuracy of the dimensions, and visually by the presence of external rounded corners. When manufacturing the product on roll forming machines, all defects in the workpiece are corrected, so further processing of the material is not required. Unlike hot-rolled profiles having uneven thickness, which adversely affects welding and other operations, the bent channel can be used without even removing the chamfer.

Relatively low cost of products in total with excellent strength characteristics allows us to use this metal in construction and industry, which ensures high economic efficiency.

The bent channel is widely used for the reconstruction of buildings and for the construction of various facilities. Today, the metal structures in which this material is present constitute quite a serious competition with conventional (traditional) reinforced concrete structures.

This allows us to achieve a number of technological and economic advantages, reduce the laboriousness of installation work, and shorten construction time. For example, many engineers and builders pay attention to the variety of the channel, which is a galvanized thermoprofile, manufactured to individual sizes.

Also, the use of the material makes it possible to minimize the load on the structure, which in turn makes it possible to make the foundation of the building simpler. In addition, the bent channel has a high functionality and versatility, which makes it reasonable to use it in a variety of construction sites. The material is used for making the frame of the cladding of external or internal walls, the construction of partitions in production and residential / office buildings.

Another important area of application of bent metal is mechanical engineering. Channel bars are used for manufacturing various parts of mechanisms and machines, as well as for the construction of frame structures. From the material in the automotive industry, load-bearing frames for trucks are produced.

The bent channel, the assortment of which is quite diverse, is made on roll forming rolls of hot rolled carbon, structural or low-alloy steel.

Products along the length of the shelves are divided into equally and unequal bent channel bars, which are produced according to different GOSTs.

The assortment is also classified according to the accuracy of rolling (conventional, high and high-precision), in size and shape (with parallel faces, sloping, economical, lightweight, special).
