How to make a chimney for burzhuyki own hands

For many, a burzhuika is not just a stove serving to heat a room, but a real relic. These devices have not only been used for a long time for several centuries, but they continue to do this to this day. Despite the appearance of modern equipment, such devices are still popular due to a wide list of their advantages. In addition, they can be used not only as a heating equipment, but also for cooking food, as well as in the role of a decorative element that gives a cozy home.

As you know, the quality of the operation of such a device largely depends on the device of its chimney. This part should be given serious consideration, so that the whole structure functions without any problems. Therefore, it is necessary to consider in more detail the process of how to make a chimney for a burzhuika by hand. But to begin with, it will be more correct to study some of the technical characteristics of this equipment.

Design features of the turbojet

Modern models, used both in private houses and in commercial buildings such as a garage, are capable of heating a room of 50-60 m² in size. Over the years, the stove-burger has changed significantly, and today's samples have acquired new functions that are not characteristic of old instruments:

  1. Work in the slow burning mode. Due to a special lock, tightly closing the door of the mechanism, the risk of smoke from the room disappears, and special valves allow controlling the process of burning intensity of the fuel.
  2. A system that allows the processing of exhaust gases. It is mounted on top of the furnace, and its main purpose is to increase productivity and reduce the temperature of the smoke entering the pipe.
  3. The interior is made of heat-resistant material, thanks to which heat is retained inside longer, and the mechanism itself does not overheat, which has a positive effect on the service life.
  4. A special insert of refractory glass, located on the door of the stove, adorns the entire structure and allows you to observe the operation of the device without any fear.

Types of burzhuek

As it was already said, such equipment, as a stove-burzhuyka, over time has undergone significant changes. Apparatuses have acquired new, certainly, necessary functions, and productivity of their work has improved. Modern models are divided into several categories, among which special attention should be paid to the following:

  1. Classic instruments made of cast iron. They are quite compact, but at the same time they serve for a long time and reliably.
  2. Round army stoves. Ideal for field conditions, but also able to work on different types of fuel - peat, wood, etc.
  3. Mechanisms that operate on the principle of a gas generator. Are the most productive devices. Equipped with two chambers: afterburning and gasification. Advantages of such devices are very many - fuel economy, a long process of work, long cooling, etc.
  4. Burgers with a cooking surface. Their main purpose is cooking food, but they can also be used as a heater.
  5. Burzhuyky-fireplaces are elegant decorative patterns that will become a real decoration of any interior. The main fuel for them - briquettes and firewood.

Merits of the bourgeois

Modern production methods make it possible to produce more and more new samples of these furnaces, which have a number of advantages:

  • Rapid ignition (10-15 minutes), while equipment, for example, of brick, requires about an hour;
  • High performance (80% efficiency);
  • Convenient size;
  • Very light weight (for the equipment of the burzhuyka there is no need for a foundation);
  • Stylish and modern design (innovative models are equipped with various means of decoration - delicate molding, glass inserts, etc.);
  • Simplicity of operation;
  • High level of functionality (these devices are intended not only for heating, but also for cooking).

The main disadvantage of furnaces-burzhuek is that models made of steel or cast iron are prone to rapid heat loss, which requires constant maintenance of the fire inside them.

Features of the flue gas duct

One of the most important functional parts of this mechanism is the chimney. To its arrangement should be approached with special attention, since the quality of its manufacture will largely depend on the work of the entire mechanism.

But before you figure out how to build the right chimney for a burzhuyka, you need, of course, to study its main technical features. The basis of this part is made up of two main parts: withdrawing and heat exchange. The first has the form of a metal pipe, which, in turn, can either be connected to the outlet channel, or have direct access to the street. The entrance to any chimney must be equipped with a flap, which can be opened only if the fire burns inside the burglar. That part of the mechanism that is responsible for the heat exchange is located inside the stove.

A chimney for a stove with an elongated shape is called a "smoke bag". All waste products in such structures first fall into this part, and only then into the pipe. The models stretched vertically have a more complex structure. For example, a chimney pipe for a stove of this type is not standard, since the whole system is a channel bent along the knee or spiral type.

Materials for creating a chimney for the stove

The device of this mechanism differs little from each other in different models. In order to understand how to calculate the chimney for a burger and produce a reliable and stable design, you will need to have the following list of building materials available:

  • Metal pipes, which can be cut with one hand from a single sheet;
  • Tee, which has a cap with a parameter of 160 mm;
  • Three butt bends (the size of one - 100x1200 mm, and the other - 160x1200 mm);
  • Fungus of 200 mm to protect the end of the chimney from getting unwanted particles from outside;
  • Material for thermal insulation;
  • A through-hole;
  • Bitumen-based resin;
  • Sealant for jointing joints (a standard asbestos cord may come up).

By purchasing all of the above materials, you can begin to collect the chimney for the burzhuyki own hands.

Chimney manufacturing process

All work should proceed as follows:

  1. The first of the parts of the metal pipe must be fixed either on the chimney hole or on the branch pipe.
  2. Then you need to build up all the knee structures, and do it right up to the very ceiling.
  3. After that, a neat hole should be made in the ceiling. To calculate its parameters, it is necessary to take into account the diameter of the chimney for the burzhuyka, it is important that its index does not exceed 16 cm.
  4. Thermal insulation material located in the section of the pipe passing through the overlap must be removed, otherwise there may be a risk of unforeseen fires.
  5. The grommet must be inserted into the previously equipped hole. And then a pipe must pass through it, which should be connected to a part of the system located outside the room.
  6. Outside, the chimney for the stove should be treated with bituminous resin and, if necessary, wrapped with any material for thermal insulation.
  7. In order to avoid falling into the system of foreign objects, the pipe end should be equipped with a specially designed fungus.

It is on this principle that the right chimney for the burger should be assembled, so that the whole system will function smoothly and durably.

Heat exchanger installation

Sometimes there is an urgent need to cool the excessively heated pipe, along which all the waste products leave. But in order not to lose the heat in the furnace itself, it is recommended to equip a special mechanism directly on it - a heat exchanger.

This device can function in two main modes. Each of them differs in the process of heat transfer from the smoke to the pipe. The essence of the first is that a cold water tank is connected to the mechanism, which in turn leads to the formation of a condensate inside the structure, due to which the heat exchanger is heated by water vapor. With this version of the device, the maximum temperature of the pipe walls will be 100 ° C.

As for the second operating mode, there is no condensation of vapors. The flow of heat through the pipe is stronger in this case. Many experts recommend that using a heat exchanger as a register for water heating, it is best to use compact structures with thick walls - this will significantly reduce the amount of condensate formed.

Specificity of chimney care

Did they make a chimney for the stove with their own hands? Now do not forget to take into account some peculiarities of the care of this equipment. The main recommendations are as follows:

  1. It is very important to regularly check the entire length of the pipe for the presence of various kinds of deformations. Any flaws, such as cracks, chips and plaque rust inevitably lead to the destruction of the integrity of the chimney and, as a consequence, reduce its service life.
  2. It is extremely necessary to clean the pipe periodically (at least once a year). Methods for this work can be very different: you can use specially designed briquettes, which in the process of combustion give off a special gas that can destroy the raid. Or, to build a burzhuyk with aspen wood, which is more of a preventive measure than a means for removing soot.

Additional recommendations for the arrangement and operation of the chimney for the stove

Create a reliable and high-quality chimney for the burzhuyki will allow compliance with the following tips from specialists:

  1. As the main material for the pipe, you can use not only not only metal, but also asbestos cement. Here it is important to remember one rule: it is allowed to install these structural parts of the chimney exclusively at the top of the structure, since the maximum temperature maintained by them is 300 ° C.
  2. The sealant for the treatment of joints must withstand the high thermal effects.
  3. Any of the deformed elements of the chimney can always be dismantled and replaced with a new one without disassembling the whole system.
  4. The use of a ruff or core for cleaning the pipe is undesirable, since these devices can damage the walls of the structure.
  5. When installing the chimney directly under the roof slope, it is recommended to use a special anti-rain hood, which protects the pipe from rainwater ingress.

Accurate adherence to all these tips will allow us to design a reliable and high-quality system that will definitely last a very long time and will not require any repairs.
