Belbek Airport (Sevastopol)

Belbek Airport is located on the seacoast, in the city of Sevastopol.

A bit of history

In 1941, when this heavenly pier was only built, it was used only for military purposes. And about 1985, when Gorbachev began to fly frequently to the presidential dacha, Belbek airport began to accept civil aircraft.

Now Sevastopol's wharf is used for military and civil purposes. And since 2002, the airport has a license that allows international transportation.

How to get there

Belbek Airport is a short distance from Sevastopol, 50 kilometers from Simferopol and 95 kilometers from Yalta.

You can get to the airport from Sevastopol by bus, which runs here approximately every 30 minutes. From the north side of this city to Belbek usually get with transplants: first by boat, and then again by bus. The time for such a journey will be about 40-50 minutes.

More about everything

Belbek Airport is equipped with a three-kilometer runway, which can receive aircraft of all types.

The last two decades the airport worked extremely unstable, and for a while it was even closed. Perhaps this is due to the recent crisis. Only in 2010, the Sevastopol sky wharf resumed its work, and its first passengers were guests arriving from Dnepropetrovsk.

According to Belbek's management plans, a new, more spacious terminal will soon be built here, the range of services will be expanded and new air carriers will be attracted. A corporate website will also be created, where you can find all the interesting information about Belbek (airport). The schedule of the next flights and ticket prices will also be available to all visitors on-line.

Advantages

The building of this airport does not require a long stay. There are no usual cafes, restaurants and bistros. There are no shops on its territory. The nearest hotels can be found only in Sevastopol.

But despite this, many people have already fallen in love with Belbek airport. The schedule of flights 2013-2014 says that this air berth is still used!

And its main advantage is that it is very close to Sevastopol. In addition, as noted by many tourists, cleanliness and order are maintained here at the proper level, and there is also no noise and fuss. In general, the place is quite calm, with a measured pace of life and a calming atmosphere.

For a year Belbek can take up to 70 thousand passengers.

Of course, today this sky berth of Sevastopol is unlikely to seriously compete with the main airport of Simferopol. There, the largest airlines that fly in different directions, offer their potential passengers much more favorable conditions.

But it will still be! Who knows, maybe when the Belbek airport is improved, it will become the most popular air haven of this republic and will be able to compete seriously with other "colleagues"!
