Avtomat "Abakan" in the arsenal of the Russian army

In many computer games quite often there is a selection of absolutely fantastic and sometimes unreal weapons. However, they can also be found in one that has been in service for a long time, but for certain reasons it is used only by special forces. One of these weapons is the machine "Abakan".

His story begins back in 1978, when there was an acute need for rearmament of the army. The ministry needed a new weapon, which could replace the Kalashnikov assault rifle, but it had significantly better shooting characteristics, allowing to conduct accurate fire on the enemy from a predicament.

To identify the best samples, a competition was held, which was held in 1981. Twelve rifle units of various modifications were examined on it. Among them was the "Abakan" machine, designed by Gennady Nikonov, who called his offspring "the automaton of a biased recoil pulse", and the competition itself was called "Abakan".

Based on the name, you can immediately conclude that it was he who won. And it is because of its shifted momentum of recoil, which allowed to conduct very accurate fire bursts. A good shooter, taking the submachine gun "Abakan", can fire aim fire with bursts of two cartridges at a distance of about one hundred meters. And both bullets can get into the same place. With him, you can fire from the trench, from lying down, from the knee and even from various uncomfortable positions without losing the quality of fire and aiming.

However, this machine requires a special culture of shooting, which presupposes the presence of well-trained military personnel, which means that it can not replace the popular and simple Kalashnikov. Therefore, the "Abakan" (machine gun) never got into service with the combat units, but it was well received in the special forces. It is in service with such famous parts as Don, SOBR and Vityaz. And this weapon was so fond of special forces, that they consider it the best for conducting battles in specific urban conditions.

It is worth noting that the machine "Abakan", a photo of which can be found, has one rather serious drawback. It has a complex design that requires some care. And at dismantling the automatic machine is divided into thirteen parts, among which such complex, as a roller, cable and springs.

Many believe that the victory that the "Abakan" machine earned in the contest went to him only thanks to the high accuracy of firing in the regime of two rounds. In this case, no one looked at its practicality and ease of handling. This is what caused the machine to still not be in service with all the troops of the Russian Federation.

To date, the prospects for this weapon is not observed, although its accuracy of shooting remains one of the best. There are other types of machines that are much more practical, and in some cases more effective. Therefore, the "Abakan" remains only a regular weapon of special forces to conduct battles in urban conditions or when capturing strategic facilities.
