Alternative fuel

Alternative fuel is obtained from renewed energy sources. For example, as an alternative to oil, fossil fuel derivatives (liquefied petroleum gas or natural gas) are widely used in many countries. Also, as fuel for cars, you can use hydrogen or electricity, obtained both from fossil sources and from the renewal of energy sources. At the same time, the car manufacturing industry, which uses these types of fuel, is only in the making.

Alternative fuel becomes a number of priority in connection with the constantly deteriorating state of the environment, as well as the impossibility of fully meeting the ever increasing requirements of motorists for world production of oil. One example of a fuel that opposes oil and gas products is biofuel. Unlike hydrogen and electricity, its use for transport does not require significant changes in modern infrastructure, engines and equipment. Thanks to this fact, the gradual conversion of the fleet into biofuel becomes a reality.

Today, researchers alternative fuel is grouped into eight types. All of the types listed below have the potential to replace gasoline and diesel in the future .

For example, methanol ("wood alcohol") is used in cars. Its main advantage is environmentally beneficial indicators. Countries such as the United States and China have recently been actively implementing programs for the use of methanol as a fuel.

Liquid fuel, used as an alternative to the existing one, is represented by ethanol, which is made on the basis of alcohol by distillation and fermentation of some crops (barley, corn and wheat). To improve the quality of environmental performance and increase the octane number, it can be mixed with gasoline.

Gas fuel is now widely used by the population of most countries. So, natural gas is supplied to enterprises, to apartment houses by municipal services.

But mixing hydrogen with natural gas , they receive alternative fuel for cars equipped with internal combustion engines.

Electricity can be used only by electric vehicles with battery power. Energy is stored in batteries that need to be recharged by connecting the vehicle to an electrical source of the standard type.

Biodiesel fuel is made on the basis of animal fats and vegetable oils.

Liquefied petroleum gas, called propane, is produced by processing crude oil and natural gas. This type of alternative fuel is widely used in human life. For example, for heating and cooking. Today, propane is a popular fuel for motor vehicles.

And finally, the last kind of alternative fuel is the P-series, which is a set of ethanol, methyl tetrahydrofuran, liquefied natural gas and co-solvent, which is obtained from biomass. Such fuel has a high octane number and therefore can be used even by cars having multi-fuel engines.

The list of alternative fuel types would be incomplete, if not to mention such innovations as the manufacture of a heat source and additional energy from solid waste. Already in many countries, corresponding factories have been built, whose "finished products" are entitled to solve two problems simultaneously. First, to prevent environmental contamination due to the constantly increasing amounts of debris. Secondly, a positive solution to environmental issues.
