Absolutism is one of the forms of state power

Throughout the entire process of the emergence and development of mankind, countries, people, and cities changed, but the forms of organization of power worked out over the centuries strengthened and got their further development. One such form was absolutism. It is such a device of power, in which the supreme ruler possessed all its fullness without restriction by anyone or anything.

"Golden Age of absolutism"

The main features of absolutism appeared before our era and passed the test in the monarchies of the ancient East. It was there, in the emerging states, that this phenomenon appeared, which went down in history as the principle of eastern despotism. To its expressed sides is the neglect of the person, all aspirations are directed to the prosperity of the state. The monarch, who leads the country, was often deified and was for the common people an indisputable authority. At the same time, his power was so absolute that any member could lose his wealth, position in society and life. With the collapse of civilizations of ancient Asia and Africa, unlimited power appears in Europe. There, absolutism is the desire of the rulers to build and centralize their countries, in the first stages of its existence it really played a positive role, but over time, the need for it fell away. Nevertheless, European monarchs, having learned all the delights of autocratic power, did not in any hurry to part with it. Therefore, the Middle Ages are truly the "Golden Age" for absolutism.

At the beginning of the modern era, with the development of education and literacy of many people, over-tutelage from the state began to weigh down, political absolutism became less popular. The heads of state, trying to maintain their power, made concessions, but they were, in fact, insignificant and in no way satisfied neither with the common people nor with the emerging class of bourgeois proprietors. The famous series of bourgeois European revolutions of the 16th-18th centuries put an end to the absolute dominance of absolutism in the political practice of European countries. However, it is too early for absolutism to withdraw from the forefront of world politics.

Metamorphoses of absolutism

Absolutism - an attempt to control everything and everything without the possibility of criticism - is reanimated in the 20th century. Of course, the monarchical dynasties are already gone, but they were replaced by no less, and perhaps even larger, absolutist projects. The emerging totalitarian states in Germany and the USSR brought the degree of concentration of unlimited power to its peak. Totalitarianism has become a kind of absolutism, under which the formula "think like me, otherwise you're an enemy". Absolutism as a political regime is still in effect, it is enough to recall Saudi Arabia. This kingdom, whose monarch is not limited in its actions by any political institution and is free to act, as it pleases, such a peculiar eastern despotism in the 21st century.

Summarizing, it can be said that absolutism is a transitional form of a political regime, which, having coped with its tasks, is a thing of the past. But at certain stages it reappears, resurrecting from non-existence like a Phoenix bird, it is during the transitional moments of history when it is necessary to mobilize all the resources of the country in a short period.
