Many began to introduce these beans into their daily diet, some to use lentils during fasting as a product containing a large amount of protein. Nevertheless, for those who do not already know lentil, what it is and why it is useful, try to give a brief description of it and tell how to prepare a delicious, satisfying and dietary pie from these beans.

Useful properties of lentils

First, it is scientifically proven that our digestive system is adapted genetically to lentils. In addition, its fruits contain almost all the useful substances that are necessary for our body. In them there is a sufficient amount of protein, in no way inferior to meat. Lentils are rich in iron, vitamins A, E, group B, PP, many mineral substances. However, its most valuable property is that it does not accumulate irrespective of growing conditions, and therefore does not contain any harmful substances, for example nitrates, and therefore is an environmentally friendly product. Lentils can be of several varieties: brown, red, green, plate, etc. All of them have the above properties, but the most useful, however, is the bowl lentil (photo at the beginning of the article). It is indispensable for people suffering from diabetes, because it lowers the level of sugar in the blood. Layered pie with lentil filling

To make this pie, we use not a puff pastry, but several thin sheets of Armenian lavash. First, our dish will be less caloric, and secondly, it will acquire a special taste inherent in this lavash.

Required Products

  • 3 sheets of pita bread;
  • 1 glass of lentils;
  • 1 large carrot;
  • 1 onion head;
  • Greens: parsley and dill;
  • Spices: hops-suneli, black pepper;

  • 1 egg;
  • vegetable oil.

Preparation of lentils for filling

On the table, lay whole sheets of lavash (pile). Top carefully lay out the filling. Try to carefully twist the sheets of lavash into a flat roll with the filling.
