Self improvementMotivation

Who and what is a motivator. Is it a person, a picture or an inducement factor?

"Motivator". This word sounds more often and in completely different contexts. Without knowing its meaning, it is rather difficult to find out where and how to use this term. The first association with the word "motivator" is a phenomenon, such as motivation, that is, motivation for action. This is partly true, since it is the motivator that psychologists call a person who can inspire other people to accomplish (or to inactivate).

What is a motivator: the definition of a term

Before moving on to studying a person who is able to influence the minds and emotions of members of his or her environment, one has to deal with other meanings of the term. Motivator called specially created image, enclosed in two frames:

  • Thin white.
  • Wide black.

Bottom of the frame is a bit wider, on this area is placed motivating to something inscription. Often, the goal of creating motivators is the author's desire to draw the attention of the audience to any burning issue (vegetarianism, violence, social problems). A humorous response to such pictures was the creation of their opposites - demotivators. Here the essence lies in the selection of incompatible images and inscriptions with sharp, satirical overtones.

Motivator as an incentive

In the dictionary of specialists in personnel management, the motivator is the factor that stimulates the employee to active, conscious and productive work activity.

The set of these factors for each person is individual, although there are several most popular:

  • Confession.
  • Personal responsibility.
  • Growth.
  • Progress forward.
  • Material compensation.

The list goes on and on, since many factors relating to self-expression through work are motivators. In other words, the motivator is a pleasure that will be available to the company employee after the successful completion of the work assignment.

Mastermind Functions

The description of the motivator should be started from afar. For example, with an illustration of the development path, which takes place almost any project before it becomes realized:

  1. The need for a particular phenomenon or subject.
  2. The emergence of ideas.
  3. Drawing up a plan and finding the means of implementing the project.
  4. Accounting for the conditions in which the finished product will exist.
  5. Search for implementers and implementation of the plan.
  6. Presentation of the result.

The most difficult to implement are those ideas, for the implementation of which the resources of a large number of people are needed. They need not only to explain in detail the purpose of common actions, but also to provide a powerful stimulus, inspiration, and charge. Motivator (this definition is rather arbitrary) is engaged in the search, identification, formulation and implementation of motivational factors.

Having the same spirit and zealous desire to work, people are able to make really impressive deeds. It is worth remembering political propaganda or such a notion as "corporate spirit".

The motivator is the most important member of the team, since he is able to answer the following question: "Why should something be done or not done?" In itself, he rarely seeks to manage and power, so he becomes a faithful assistant to the ideologist (what to do), the leader (as Do) and the communicator (what, where, when, how and who will do).

Who is the motivator?

The best way to motivate any society is to cope with those people who have a set of specific abilities (empathy, the gift of persuasion, the ability to attract attention). They are able to have a significant impact on others, connecting the logic and emotional component.

However, not always the motivator is someone who is striving for management and leadership. Often the goal of such people is the result of their efforts in the form of a well-executed task or the common goal achieved. At the same time, motivators can call people from their environment as active actions with a positive emotional color (choose a certain deputy, whiten trees, protect animals) and dishonorable acts (humiliate people of other nationalities, destroy other people's cultural values).

Therefore, among psychologists there are concepts of plus and minus motivators. The identification of such "pillars of society" is crucial for the success of almost any project. The impact of destructive influence becomes destructive for a creative society.
