Which watch to choose for diving?

A special element in diving is a sports watch, on which human security will depend. Because of the recent appearance of modern equipment, including an underwater computer, many have stopped paying attention to the purchase of watches. And why are they needed when a computer is able to show a large number of various parameters, including time? But still it is not necessary to forget about diving watches, as they can be used as an additional element of insurance, which will be needed in case of a computer failure.

As materials for sports watches can serve as stainless steel, synthetic resin, titanium or plastic. An important element is a convenient dial, on which all numbers and arrows will be clearly displayed. In addition, the swimming clock should have a good backlight. It is necessary in order to provide illumination in pitch darkness. Do not forget that the watch should be waterproof. Therefore, before buying, you should find out whether they were tested underwater or not. A good indicator of waterproofness is the serviceability of the device at a pressure of thirty atmospheres.

It must be borne in mind that diving watches must undergo individual tests, the results of which determine their quality. In the course of the examination, the accuracy of the inscriptions is checked, the antimagnetic property of the device, the stability against mechanical damages, the reliability of the fastener and the rim. Also a good watch should work perfectly even in salt water. If, as a result of the test, no deviations are found, this means that the device fully meets all quality standards.

Very often you can see a watch for scuba diving, which have a screwed bottom lid and a dense ring with a circular cross-section. Also, the sports watch should have a screw-off head for the establishment. In addition, this element should be roughened and large, so that it can be used even if the hands are neoprene gloves. As additional shockproof elements there should be a side protection and a sapphire crystal, which prevents the appearance of scratches on the dial.

Due to the fact that there is no sunlight at great depth, diving watches should have luminous markers, which will contribute to a more precise time designation. About this factor should not be forgotten in any case. The watch must be purchased with a rotating rim, which is necessary for calculating the dive time, based on the presence of air. Since the rotation of the rim is counterclockwise, it will not show a larger amount of time even in the case of accidental touches. This aspect will serve as additional protection.

Currently, diving watches are not an obsolete element, they serve as an additional guarantor of safe diving.
