What is a monarchy: history and modernity

With each passing day, political relations and processes are more and more complicated and complicated. It's hard to say what a monarchy is today, what its varieties are today and, most importantly, it's good or bad for the population of this country and society as a whole. Despite this, it has historically happened that there are two main forms of this government, which also have their internal division. And to be able to talk about the complexity of modern political life, you need to understand the initial concepts. Thus, most experts answer the question "What is a monarchy?" As follows: this is a form of government in a state characterized by lifelong one-man rule (one person), which, as a rule, is inherited. Someone will fairly notice that it can not take on its own, out of nowhere. The first monarchs came to power mainly in two ways: by election or by forcible conquest of the crown.

There are two main types of autocracy: unlimited (or absolute) and limited monarchy (here it is also divided into parliamentary, constitutional and dualistic).

The first form of the considered form of government is characterized by the fact that the government is inviolable here, it is unconditionally inherited (basically within the same genus) and belongs to the owner for life. In addition, the ruler in the implementation of any steps is completely based on his opinion and does not bear any responsibility for what he has done. What is a monarchy, when the king (or sheikh) does this way, pursuing only one-purpose goals?

In this case, it is customary to talk about tyranny or despotism in the state.
At the present time, probably, there is no absolute monarchy in its pure form. The most close to it will be forms of government in Oman, as well as in Saudi Arabia.

What is a monarchy of a dualistic type? This concept has appeared relatively recently, although there are no visual samples in the world today. The dualistic monarchy was characteristic of many states in the past - Italy, Prussia and some others. The peculiarity of this form of government was the existence of a legislative body, different from the head. He was authorized to issue normative acts, which, however, the monarch could at once "reject" or unconditionally make their changes in them, and sometimes completely dissolve the parliament.

At the present time, power with restrictions has become more widespread. The modern monarchy is most often found in a constitutional or parliamentary form. In the first case, the power of the ruler is limited to a set of his rights and duties (as in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Qatar, etc.). In the second, it is driven into the framework of a parliament with significant powers, which in most cases is broader than that of a monarch. Countries with this form of government - Canada, Thailand, Nepal, Australia and others.

Political scientists distinguish some other types of monarchy at the present time. These innovations cause modern changes in the structure of many states. For example, in the United Arab Emirates there is a republican monarchy, where a single leader is periodically appointed by the heads of the federation.

Unfortunately, today it is impossible to say unambiguously which form of government is better. Even in the most democratic republic, which is officially a country, almost an authoritarian power that contains people in fear can act. In other words, everything is learned in practice, even if it is studied in theory.
